Chapter 29 Part III

“I’ll take the baby into the bathroom to wash myself, so I can wipe him down again. You’d better prepare a new dose of medicine.”

“All right.”

The young woman carried the medication into the room when she noted that the father and son had been gone for a long time. The young man was putting the baby into new clothes on his bed. Kita was still crying irritably non-stop because he wanted to be picked up by his father and didn’t want to be lying flat on the bed.

“We’re almost finished, son,” he cooed periodically.

When Kita glanced over and saw his mother walking in holding medicine, he closed his eyes tight and cried loudly as he twisted away and kicked hard. The young man and woman looked at each other.

“Put the medicine at the head of the bed first. I’ll watch him myself. You go stay with Nara.”

“I’m worried.”

“I can handle taking care of our child. The more he sees you, the more he cries. He’s probably still upset that his mother made him take medicine.”
