The morning of the twins’ birthday, after they had returned to Thailand for nearly a full month, was a fortunate occasion, as there was an opportunity to have Kita and Nara give alms in the morning in Thailand. Everyone was actively preparing food. There were nine auspicious Thai desserts[1] from Sakunthara Thai Desserts to add to the fortune of their first birthday. Being able to celebrate with their grandmothers made the atmosphere of the morning merit-making session warm.


“All finished,” Pim drawled from the kitchen, her hands holding the tray of prepared food. She brought it out.


Sakunthara followed her out. She and Pim had been helping each other cook since dawn. Before this, young employees from the shop had brought over desserts along with her mother.


“Ready!” The two grandmothers, each carrying a grandchild, exclaimed. Kita and Nara had been bathed and dressed since the morning as well.
