That Aina gave birth to an albino hit Adisa's heart with amazement. His mind kept re-visiting ifakele's instructions tha day he was to perform the propitiation at a path leading to major market square. As soon as the good but unfortunate news of Aina delivering a baby girl came to Adisa, his mind was drifted into confusion as he could n t remember setting his eyes on a human albino on his was to perform the sacrifice.
This actually broke Adisa and went Awero apart in vehement argument as Adisa insisted not to check Aina and her baby at Iya ibiya's compound were Aina went through her labour pains.
"I think I demand to know what is going on with you.... You have refused to see Aina and her new baby at Iya Ibiye. Awero eventually voiced out in anger after long days of persuasion
"What is really there that I can't understand?" Awero questioned
" I mean..... My life is at stake at this moment because Aina has given birth to albino Adisa managed to hint out some words.
Awero was amazed at her husband's statement..... She got lost in the thought for a while trying to establish the connection between her husband and his best friend's wife given birth to an albino girl.
"Adisa... truly I'm lost..... Explain to me what is really going to" she pleaded.
" It's all about the sacrifice I helped Oke and his wife to carry out some months ago....I was told if Aina gives birth to an albino u should be expecting death thereafter..... Adisa cried out in agony with perfect trail of tears descending from his eyes.
"No!.... That can't be ... Why death..... That's not possible..... You didn't explain all these toe . I'm only aware of the piece of land you were given as compensation. I don't know that the sacrifice would be at the sentiment of your own life, "Awero joined her husband in sharing his pains and tears." What do we do? "she added by asking for a way out.
"At once, Adisa stood up from a stool and got dressed. He left immediately for Baba Ifakale house leaving Awero and his three years old Abiodun behind.
Pantingly, Adisa traced his way down to the village arena straight to ajero market and finally out of Alapa village with wide traces of tearon his face. As Soon as he balanced on the three paths linking to Iluju, Alapa and Odun villages, a strange voice came to him from nowhere,. Adisa thought of hitting the road straight to Iluju, but his legs were firmly stiffed to do that. Instead, he hit the deck. He fell completely to the ground and bit the dust immediately.
The incidence was nothing bat mystery that was beyond the knowledge of humans. The tragic relocation of Adisa from this world to the world beyond left indelible sorrow in Awero's life. She was almost drawn to insanity as she was unaware by the sudden incidence. She kept blaming her husband for accepting the offer of performing the propitiation in exchange for the land and took a decision that the entire family came to regret at the end.she continued mourning her husband's death while Aina was silently celebrating her new born baby.
Awero knew that her husband was unscrupulous enough in helping Oke and Aina carry out the ritual exercise in exchange for a mere material value. Two weeks after her husband's death kept flashing pains across her heart, Awero made up her mind to dispose off the alleged ill-gotten land and use the money to the care of herself and Abiodun and set up a business with it. This she was about doing two weeks after she had made the decision of selling the land sealed in her mind that Aina quickly ran to the palace to refresh her case against the late Adisa. Obviously, Awero knew that Adisa's case which was connected to the land he acquired from Oke was among the long list of untreated cases at Kings palace.
Immediately, the King of Alapa sent a notice to Awero not to exercise any intention of converting the land in question into cash. She could only do this after unbiased judgement had been passed by the chiefs in council.
Over a decade, the land case, now between Awero and Aina, was awating verdict. Over the years in with their case lasted, Awero and Aina were greatest enemy of each other. Their well established long years relationship hit the rock over the landed property issue. It was a stony impression directed towards each other especially when something unpleasant happened to them. They never visited each other nor care for each other's children. Unrelenting attempts by some of their friends to turn their enmity into history seemed to fall on stony ground.
For many years, Each of them had been trying to avoid any public encounter that may arise if they eventually came into contact outside their homes. The incomprehensible weight of their enmity left so people in the village in great amazement. People were beginning to feel that their enmity would transfer to thier offsprings and there Bay make it become a generation phenomenon for their children and children's children.
