Getting Revenge on my Cold Ex-wife (Part 9)

(Hwa-Young)

*BANG!*

I slammed my fist on the wall, creating a crack on it. I was inside a secret hidden room in my office. It's a place where I store all the top secret informations and the important stuffs that I don't want anyone to see.

Right now, I was looking at a board that has multiple pictures and photos of Seok-Jin, with his new girlfriend.

(Pictures of Seok-Jin and Jun dating, walking, holding hands, eating, laughing, etc. And some reports and informations about Jun with her profile.)

"That Damn Woman." I glared at Jun's picture where she is hugging Seok-Jin.

During the last week, my agents kept reporting everything about them, especially Her. Most of the reports were about their activities and dates. At first, my original plan was to expose any dark secrets That woman has, but no matter how hard my agents tried to find, she was completely clean. No problems, no bad records, no threat to the Shin company, and no threat to Seok-Jin.

After finding that out, I began to accept that she is not a bad person, and just loyal to Seok-Jin, but...

*Throw!*

(Hwa-Young threw a pencil that pierced Jun's head in the picture)

But that doesn't change my dislike to her.

"Tch!"

*Door open*

"Miss Hwa-Young? The food is ready" Sally came inside the hidden room.

"I'm coming".

....

As I was eating my meal quietly in my office, Sally, who was standing on my side asked.

"Hwa-Young? Can we talk?"

After I finished eating and cleaning my mouth with a handkerchief, I looked at her. For her to call me without "miss", meant that she wants to have a conversation as a friend.

Sally wasn't just my personal maid, but she is also my childhood friend and my closes friend that I trust the most. I gave her the permission to sit down on the couch.

"What is it Sally?"

"Don't you think it's already time for you to stop doing this?"

"... Doing what? I don't get what you mean."

"Don't play dumb. You know exactly what I mean" Sally narrowed her eyes.

"..."

"...."

"Huh! listen Hwa, I don't know and I don't understand why you are still doing this, but if you keep hiding your true feelings, you might regret it."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked her with a frowned.

But she didn't answer and just shrugged her shoulders while saying that's something I need to figure out by myself. After that, she left me alone.

Although I know she is right, but still, my mind still denies it. Should I just accept it?

"....."

I shook my head and went back to the hidden room.

....

2 days after

I went to a large famous mall because I was following Seok-Jin and his assistant. I came here alone without any guards or my maid. I was disguising myself so that no one can recognized me.

As I was following the two from behind, something unexpected happened.

"Hm? Hwa-Young, is that you?"

"!!!" I flinched.

"Huh? Oh, it is her."

I quickly calmed myself and then turn around to face them with my normal stoic face. The one who called my name were Binna and.... Han-Ji?

I greeted my friend and ignored the guy who was standing next to her. Binna asked me what I was doing here, so I lied, saying that I was planning to buy something alone. She asked what it was, but I told her it was a secret. I then asked her what was she doing here, and with a man like Him next to her. She told me that she was on a date with Han-Ji, and that he was treating her for a lunch.

I looked at Han-Ji while frowning. The guy was shivering and sweating from my glare.

"Didn't I say not to show your face in front of me."

"Y-yes! You did, but..."

"Hwa-Young, stop scaring him. He is only here because I brought him with me".

Although it's true that our meeting here was just a coincidence, but my hatred to this stupid dumb head will never go, because he was the main reason for my breakup with Seok-Jin.

"*sigh* fine then. So where are you planning to eat?" I asked.

"There." Han-Ji point at a large restaurant that was behind me. To my surprise, that was the same restaurant where Seok-Jin and Jun went to a moment ago.

"Hey, why don't you join us" said Binna as she grabbed my arm.

"What?"

"Come on, we haven't eaten together for so long. it's my treat." she smiled at me.

"You mean My treat, since I'm the one who is always paying." Han-Ji looked at his girlfriend with a stoic face.

"No wai-!"

And without realizing it, some how, I was dragged to the restaurant by her, and I was now sitting on the opposite side of the table while facing the two.

Just how did I get here? This girl Binna, is really a scary woman. During college, whenever she invites me or any of her friends to a place, it always ends up like this, being accepted. She is always able to convince anyone to join her, no matter how hard the other party tried to decline. It as if she has the ability to make anyone accept her invitation, no matter what the reason. Even I, who dislikes hanging out alot get affected by her.

Huh, despite saying that, I still can't feel upset about her. She always shows her cheerful smile that can put anyone under her spell, making them like her. I wasn't an exception.

I looked around to find Seok-Jin, and I was relief to see him sitting far away from us. Binna and Han-Ji  weren't able to see him because their backs were facing him. After we ordered some foods, Binna started talking about her daily life and her dates with Han-Ji. Meanwhile, Han-Ji was sitting quiet, not saying anything. She then began asking questions about me. At sometimes, I would take a quick peek at Seok-Jin who is flirting with Jun. I was trying so hard to control my emotions.

"Hwa-Young, are you okay?" Binna looked at me in confused.

"It's nothing, I was just- !!"

Just then, I saw Jun kissing Seok-Jin on the cheek. My mind froze for a second before I stood up.

"Hwa-Young? what's wrong?" Binna was surprised with my actions.

"I need to use the restroom." I quickly left them and then went to the restroom.

....

*Splash!*

I was splashing my face with water as I was trying to calm myself. Fortunately, no one was here except me. Just what is wrong with me? After taking some deep breath, I was finally able to calm down and fix myself.

*Door opens*

I then heard someone coming in, and to my surprise, it was Jun. She walked in, placed her purse on the countertop, and then started washing her hands.

I was wondering if she doesn't notice me, or doesn't recognize me. I was standing five feet away from her.

Just forget it. I shook my head and I dried my hands with a tissue before leaving. But as I walked behind her while heading to the exit, I was stopped by her voice.

"When are you going to stop doing this meaningless things, miss Hwa-Young?"

I turned around and looked at her. She was still washing her hands, but continued.

"Don't you think it's already time to stop? Don't you get tired already?"

"What do you mean by that?" I frowned.

She finished washing, and was drying her hands with a handkerchief.

"Stop with the foolish act, you know exactly what I mean." She looked at me in the eye. With her dark black eyes and her stoic face.

"Did you think I didn't notice you trailing us? Like a stalker."

I started to get a little angry when she said that.

"And it wasn't just that. Over the past week, you send spies and agents to spy on mister Seok-Jin and me. Did you think I didn't realize that?"

I clenched my fist as I looked at her.

"And what if I did. It's not like I'm doing something illegal." I said with a confidence.

"That is true. The laws of this country is useless against powerful people like us. But that doesn't mean we can't use other methods to stop it."

My eyes frowned even more. Is she talking about using a dirty methods to silent me? Is she serious?

I kept looking at the woman with a worried thoughts, although I don't fear her, but I still remember that she was an assassin and her name is well known in the underworld. She was a powerful woman, but what made me feel very uneasy is her expression. She showed no reaction when she talks, like a cold doll with no emotions. Even during my engagement break, she looked the same as now. No emotions.

But when she is with Seok-Jin or is talking to him, she shows more emotions like a real girl. Becoming completely a different person. That is why I was having a hard time in the past week, trying to figure out her true motives, trying to read her, to understand her.

"Are you threatening me?" I asked.

"Threatening? Miss Hwa-Young, please don't think so negative about what I say. I am saying this as an advice."

"Advice?"

"Yes, an advice. Not a threat nor a warning, but as someone who is also a woman and a business lady. Stop doing this useless and meaningless thing, and leave Him alone. Because what you are doing is unfitting for someone as your status."

I gritted my teeth while trying to hold my anger. Despite wanting to deny it, but she was actually right. I lowered my head to hide my eyes behind my hair.

"And what if I don't want to?"

There was a moment of silence before she answers.

"Then I won't mind getting rid of you."

"!!!!!?"

"Your actions can create some problems to both our company and mister Seok-Jin in the future. If that happens, then I won't hesitate to take a drastic measure to fix it."

I looked at her eyes and I can tell she was serious.

"Heh, you think you can stop me just because you have Seok-Jin backing you?" I scoffed at her.

Just then, she raised her eyebrows.

"Did you think I need Boss's help just to get rid of you?"

*Hooooss!*

She then released a powerful killing intent that froze my whole body. I watch her getting close to me. For someone like her who is an assassin and cultivator, her bloodlust was way powerful than anything I felt before. Just how many people did she killed?

She stopped one feet away and I was able to see her eyes more clearly. They were so dark, as dark as the abyss.

"Listen carefully Mrs Shin. The reason why your agents were able to get my information and pictures is because I allowed it. I was ordered to keep our two companies relationship intact, that is why I ignored them and your actions. I am able to get rid of them all before they get a chance to get any info about me or about mister Seok-Jin, if I want to. That is why I am telling you that I have the capability to destroy you and your family's business, all by myself, and without mister Seok-Jin knowing it."

"So now I am giving you a warning. Try me, and you will see what will happen."

The killing intent was gone and I was catching my breath. Although her bloodlust was strong, but it didn't affect me alot. It was only enough to intimidate me.

"What gives you the confidence?" I asked.

"That's because I and my subordinates are capable in gathering more informations than anyone else can. Even informations about you."

"What?!"

"Yeah, I know many things about you, miss Hwa-Young. The girl who was born smart and was called prodigy and a genius by others. She studied and worked hard for the sake of her family and herself. She always was the top one in everything. After getting defeated by Seok-Jin and experiencing the loss for the first time, she began to work alot harder than before. But after she signed the contract and broke the engagement, for some reason, she stopped improving."

I was very much surprised with how much she knows about me. Everything she said was true. I was always moving forward, not carrying too much about my surroundings, and after meeting Seok-Jin, I began moving alot faster just so I can catch up to him from behind. But now.... am I still moving forward?

"Right now, you are completely Different from Hwa-Young that's mentioned on the reports. What I am seeing in front of me is a girl, who is having troubles in understanding her emotions because she is stupid."

I clenched my fist hard.

"Stupid and weak because she keeps concealing it and hiding it."

I gritted my teeth.

"I will say it one more time. Stop following and stalking Seok-Jin as if you are his wife, who is trying to catch her husband cheating with another woman."

I was about to shout at her, but was stopped by her next words.

"Because you don't have any Feelings for him, so stop acting like you do."

I couldn't say anything to fight back.

Jun then began walking away, but before she left, she gave one more final words.

"And stop using Pathetic and Weak excuses for your actions. This is not what the real Hwa-Young would do."

*Door closed*

I stood there like a statue, not knowing what to do. Everything she said were true, and my mind was shaking from everything. For the first time, I didn't know what to do.

Not long after, Binna came in and saw my state. She asked me worriedly about what happened to me, but I didn't gave her an answer, and just told her that I didn't feel so good and wanted to go home. She then offered me for a ride, and I accepted it.

"...."

I turned my head to see my reflection on the mirror.

I looked pathetic.
