Difficult to continue love across generations

The light and shadow flickered uncertainly, and in the midnight hospital, there was silence. In the small ward, only my voice kept going. The spell was really hypnotic. I yawned after reciting it a few times and eventually fell asleep by the bed.

After an unknown amount of time had passed, a sudden scream woke me up. When I looked up, I saw An Yesu panting nervously on his bed with a tense expression.

"What's wrong?" I quickly turned on the light and asked him.

He turned his head to look at me, swallowed some saliva, and struggled to say: "Water."

I quickly brought him a glass of water which he drank in one gulp before taking a deep breath and falling heavily onto the bed. After a long while he said to me: "I had a very strange dream."

"Tell me about it," I smiled.

"I don't know if that dream was real or not but it felt very vivid. In my dream, there was a younger sister who was being chased by bad guys. I hid her in a well but couldn't go back to save her because they caught me...they ate me..." An Yesu struggled with his words for some time before finally saying: "They ate me."

Hearing this made my eyes brighten because I knew that my plan had succeeded! This would make things much easier as all we needed now was for him to recognize YunQingYue as his sister.

Excitedly thinking about how close we were to completing our mission when suddenly An Yesu turned around and asked: "Is that really my past life?"

"If nothing unexpected happens then yes it should be correct," I replied looking at him.

"But why is my past life so tragic? You don't know what happened inside; some things are too disgusting for words." He frowned deeply as he spoke.

Damn! Never mind everything else, I just need to know if you remember your sister's name or not! I was getting anxious and urged him: "Cause and effect, retribution for heaven's will. You gain some, you lose some. Your innate talent in this life is probably because your past life was too miserable so the heavens are specially looking after you. Anyway, let's put that aside for now. Can you tell me what your past life sister's name was?"

"I remember," he nodded his head and said: "Her name was YunQingYue and my name was Yun Qingyu."

"Ok!" I snapped my fingers at him and said: "It's settled!"

"What do you mean?" He looked at me puzzled.

"Let me tell you a story," I looked at him and said: "Do you know why I came here? Actually there is a reason behind it. Hmm...how should I say it? The reason is because there is a female ghost inside of me.

Hmm?" An Yesu looked at me, seeming to be a little skeptical of my words.

"Never mind, I'll just say it simply. The thing is that your past life's sister's soul is now inhabiting my body. I came to find you for her sake. Now that you have remembered your past life, my task is almost complete. Next, it's time for her to meet with you." As I spoke, I called out YunQingYue.

YunQingYue floated out and looked nervous as she stood there, unable to lift her eyes to look at An Yesu.

It was the first time I had seen her so restrained and couldn't help but chuckle inwardly.

"Do you see? She is your past life's sister YunQingYue," I pointed at YunQingYue and said to An Yesu.

An Yesu was taken aback for a moment and curiously glanced around before laughing: "Is there really someone here?"

Hearing this, I suddenly realized he didn't have the ability to see spirits. So all I could do was ask him to wait for me while quickly running out of the hospital in search of an old yellow cow whereupon obtaining some tears from its eyes.

When returning back with them in hand, I applied them onto An Yesu's eyes before calling YunQingYue out again.

This time when YunQingYue appeared once more looking even more nervous than before as she tightly clasped both hands together without daring to look at An Yesu directly who finally saw her but his reaction wasn't as excited as expected either way after sizing up Yunqingyue he only nodded saying: "She looks like it; yes indeed this is my past life's younger sister."

As he spoke while looking towards me asking: "Can she hear me speaking right now?"

"She can hear you if you listen carefully. If you do, you should be able to hear her words too," I said to him.

"Oh," he nodded and then looked at YunQingYue saying: "Hello, umm...I'm sorry I couldn't go back to save you. I hope you don't blame me."

YunQingYue looked up at him for a long time before nodding without saying anything.

"Hey, can we get some reaction here? How about hugging each other and crying it out? After all the difficulties of finding each other again, this kind of reaction is really inappropriate!" I grinned at YunQingYue.

"No need. As long as he's okay now, I'm relieved. The affection between us from our past life cannot be as strong as before. It's enough that he can recognize me; that already makes me satisfied. Thank you." YunQingYue glanced at me and walked away while saying: "Okay then, from now on I have no more wishes left but will focus on assisting your growth."

"Just like that? That's it?" I told Yunqingyue: "Let me tell you something; things are not good for him right now! He has gotten into trouble; big trouble! Do you understand?

That's his fate, it has nothing to do with me anymore," YunQingYue stopped talking and went straight back to the Purple Mansion space.

"Ahem," I felt a bit embarrassed and looked at An Ye Su, "Why didn't you talk to her more?"

"I..." he frowned and said to me, "I feel strange."

Well, maybe it really was because of the difference in time that emotions were no longer there. It couldn't be blamed on him.

"What are you going to do next? Are you going to turn yourself in and identify Lu Dakun's crimes?" I asked him.

"You seem very anxious," he looked at me and said, "Do you have something important to attend to and need to leave quickly?"

"Of course! I still have school. I took leave this time. If I delay any longer, it will cause big trouble when I go back. You know what? My parents might chop me into pieces." I complained.

"Now that you mention it, I just realized that you're still just a kid. It's all my fault for thinking of you as an adult." He laughed.

"Okay, let's not talk about this anymore. Time is running out. Quickly tell me what your plan is so that I can help one last time before leaving."

"I'll turn myself in tomorrow morning," he said.

"What about Xiao Ping's body?"

"We'll hand it over together with the police," he replied.

"You may face heavy sentencing; according to my estimate, at least life imprisonment." I reminded him.
