A few days passed and Scarlet stopped hearing word from Alex. Although, she was a little sad, she felt that something must have happened to stop him from contacting her. In all, she hoped she could hear his voice once more.
Just like that, days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and before anyone knew it, three years had already gone by.
Scarlet was currently in college along with her friends, except Teresa, who went to study abroad.
The rest of her skating friends stayed with her as they all got their tuition from the skating games they entered. Dawn and the non-skaters didn't leave her either. It was nice being around her even if she was a bit distant.
Lukas was still thinking of ways to approach her.
Although, now she was free and wasn't dating anyone, confessing to her was like escaping from a wrecking ball. Extremely difficult.
He liked how their relationship was and didn't want to ruin it but, he wasn't content. He wanted to be the one to stand by her side at all times.
He wanted her to confide in him when she was in pain, lean on him and cry on him but, all of that were just his wishful thinking.
There was no way Scarlet would respond to his feelings positively and to avoid a tragic outcome, he decided to be patient.
'So what if she still loves Alex? She can learn to love me when we get together, right? Who knows, maybe she doesn't love him that much now. Its been three years after all' Lukas thought as he watched Scarlet and her friends practice on the skateboard ramp.
It was amazing to watch her as she was so good at it. 'I mean, she has to forget him one day and when that day comes, I'll be next in line. I won't miss the chance' he grinned at his thought.
Just then, Scarlet wore roller skates and was showing the team some of her inline skating. 'Man, she's good!'
He turned his head to see a few men in black surrounding a black Bentley. It was a very luxurious car and only those in the higher ups could afford it. They seemed to be focused on Scarlet.
The person inside snapped his finger and one of the men nodded and called a student over.
Although, Lukas wasn't able to hear what he said to this student, he saw him pointing at Scarlet and the student immediately went to whisper to Scarlet.
"What is it that they want?" Scarlet asked in a hoarse manner.
She seemed displeased that they were looking for her.
The student shrugged her shoulders because she also didn't know the reason why they were looking for her.
"I got it!" Scarlet said and put on her helmet. "Sam, Sage, Mira, come with me, will ya?" She requested and they nodded. They trailed after her on wheels. They could clearly see the frown on her lips.
"Uh-oh! Seems like Scar's gonna give them a hard time." Sage said from behind.
"It's their fault for disturbing her practice. They should blame themselves for their untimely intervention." Sam said with her usual indifferent expression.
"Let's just hope that things go well for them." Mira said and they finally got to where they were.
"Hey!" Scarlet yelled "What the hell do you want?" She demanded not stopping to think of who it actually was or what the consequences would be for offending this big figure.
"Don't talk rudely! You should appreciate the fact that our boss wants to talk to you." One of the guards yelled back at her. She didn't care one bit.
"Cut the crap and just tell me what you want." She demanded. "Although others might not have noticed it, but I know that you've been watching me for the past two weeks. I don't know what you want but I need you to stop following me cause its freaking me out." She concluded.
Indeed they had been watching her secretly but, they didn't expect her to notice at all. Her observation skills were quite impressive.
"What a stalker?!" Mira said also displeased. "How could you guys stalk Scarlet for so long? I thought rich people were cautious and well mannered"
"You..."
"That's enough!" They heard a voice come from inside the car. The guard had no choice but to remain silent and not retaliate.
The door opened exposing a tall and handsome man who looked to be in his early 40's even if he didn't look the part. He looked so handsome and emitted an aura of authority.
On seeing this man, she felt a sense of familiarity in a way that she couldn't explain. Although her mind was lost right now, she still looked calm and focussed on the outside.
"Hello Miss Scarlet!" The man said trying to act friendly but Scarlet wouldn't by that friendly act.
"So you're the one they're under?" She asked but he just gave her a smile. "Since you are 'acting' nice. I'll ask nicely." She said "What do you want from me?" She asked.
Indeed, she was the type that didn't like to beat around the bush and was straightforward. She stared at them like they were hindrances in her life and couldn't tolerate them any longer.
Seeing how she acted, the man was convinced that she was indeed the opposite of her daughter.
"I'm sorry to take your time but there is something I must request of you." He said.
"What could a rich man like you want from a girl like me? What could I possibly offer?" She scoffed finding his request absurd.
"That was the reaction I was expecting. But before anything else, I would like you to meet my daughter." He gave a sign and one of the guards walked to the other side of the car to aide his daughter out.
'Why would I change my mind just by looking at his daughter? What exactly is going on here?' Scarlet thought trying to figure out the situation and then, she saw his daughter. The girl who was being supported by two crutches and a guard.
Scarlets mouth dropped from within. She couldn't express it out. Her reaction was indifferent in the outside but her eyes betrayed her.
Her friends from the side had their mouths dropped. Even Sam couldn't hide the shock on her face. What was this...this girl, how could she look so much like Scarlet?
The only differences were the colour of their eyes and their dressing style. Even the length of their hair was the same. It was just that Scarlet tied her hair up in a ponytail to avoid it from distracting her while she skate.
"Summer, say hello to Scarlet."
"Hi, there! My name is Summer. I hope you help me out!" The girl named Summer said and smiled really warmly.
The reaction from behind was predicted. It was like they were seeing the other version of Scarlet.
'How could we look so much alike? What was this man up to and what did Summer mean by help her out? What do they want from me?' These were the questions that roamed around Scarlet's head.
Seeing this, the man said to her.
"Come with us and we'll discuss about it in details." He said
"No!" Scarlet immediately declined. "I won't go with you until I know who you are and where you're bringing me to." She said.
"That's smart of you. You wouldn't go with a stranger just because he's rich!" He took out his business card and handed it over to her.
"Please, I'm not dumb!" She said and accepted the card. She glanced through it.
Even if she didn't know anything about the business class, she could tell that he was really formidable. She looked up at him and threw the card towards Sam, who nodded.
"Okay Mister formidable, I'll go with you." She finally agreed to go with them. She took off her roller skates and wore her boots.
Without much time wasted, she got in the car. Unlike most girls, who would marvel at being in an expensive car for the first time, she simply crossed her legs and kept her eyes out the tainted windows.
Mr Gabriel couldn't help but smile while he stared at her. She reminded him of the young tyrant he was when he was her age. What a familiar feeling?!
