Kalusia’s Last Stand

It had been a few weeks since we took the factory, and the three groups of the army had all reached a point where the capital's walls were visible in the distance.

We were only a day away from the final siege, which would determine the fate of not only the Kalusia Kingdom and all of its citizens but the future of the entire continent.

Losing this battle would make it a hundred times easier for Zagor to conquer all of the nations in the continent without much resistance, so this was our last chance to end it for good.

On the day before, I sent a voice message to Melina, telling her that we were close to ending the war and about our plans the next day.

Her response message came back almost immediately after I sent it.

"Please be careful, okay? I'll be waiting for you… Please come back safely…" the message said.

I could hear her voice laced with uncertainty and fear, but that only made me want to put an end to everything even quicker.
