The Great Escape

So many bright flashlights lit up the ground like a thick carpet of snow. Louis, standing tall, took the lead, guiding everyone deeper into the secret tomb.

At first, everyone was nervous about going in, because the last group that went in never came out. But seeing Louis boldly moving ahead lifted their spirits, and they all quickly followed him.

Mogen Chin, seated in a wheelchair, also went into the tomb. He noticed the footprints on the ground and told Louis, "Mr. Martinez, stop at the spot where the footprints disappear."

"Will do, Mr. Chin." Louis directed his flashlight onto the floor.

The footprints were clearly visible in the soft dirt.

Big and small.

The smaller ones were probably Alicia's.

Some footprints were all over the place, showing signs of confusion and fear when a trap must have gone off.

Louis stopped a yard away from where the footprints stopped. He turned to Mogen and said, "The footprints stop right there."
