Chapter 18: Something About Her

ARES’S POV

I had no idea what tonight would have in store for me. It would either be the best night of my life or be one of the worst decisions that I’ve ever made. I typically don’t go on dates, they’re pointless just like the false sense of love. Love wasn’t some infinite power; it was just feeling like lust and hunger.

I stopped the car in front of Leilani’s house and turned off the engine. We had texted earlier about what time to meet her, but she requested that I come to pick her up and that she keep the location to herself. I pulled out my phone and immediately found her name letting her know that I was outside. I would’ve knocked on the door, but I wasn’t sure if she lived with anyone else or not.

‘Then come inside. I’m running a little behind schedule, but the door is unlocked for you.’
