After dropping Leilani off at her house, I had a few other arrangements before tonight, mainly going to explain to my family that I was bringing a date with me tonight. The last thing I wanted was for my mother to cause a scene because I hadn’t told her ahead of time about my special guest.


I had planned on introducing Leilani as my girlfriend to my family and to the world. There was still so much that we needed to learn about each other, but I had never been this sure about anything in my life outside of business. My mother said I had a sense for the best business deals and being around Leilani made me feel like I was signing on to the best business deal.
