"He told you we betrayed him?"
There was anger in Xi Zhan's voice.
"He said that his brothers plunged his wealth and divided it among themselves."
Xi Zhan didn't answer me, but asked, "He even told you all these things. Are you familiar with each other?"
Seeing how bad Xi Zhan looked, I quickly shook my head and denied it, "We aren’t familiar. He casually mentioned it at the tea house during the day. When I went to find Ji Nuan and wanted to go shopping with her, I happened to meet him."
Xi Zhan’s face became relaxed, "I've never betrayed anyone."
I believed all of what Xi Zhan said, but I didn't ask him about that very year, because I was afraid that something would lead to his displeasure.
I looked up and kissed him on the cheek. "I believe you."
Xi Zhan hummed and did not speak again.
Although Xi Zhan was still cold in the face of others, silence is gold. He was still very much a talkative in front of me.
Maybe his identity was different at the moment.
