I was about six years old, sitting atop a tree branch, listening in, together with my siblings.
When my father gathered the council of elders, warning them over and over again about the sky people returning, but they wouldn't listen, it had been years, they said, since they last saw them, but I always believed in my dad.
He is Toruk Makto and if he says they are coming, then they will come.
And for the first time, since my rebirth, I had the feeling of dread. After that I kept having nightmares of a star too bright to be a star, our forest burning, and my people scared and bleeding.
I have grown to love this planet and it's beautiful people...and my family, they are all I have and I will not let greed take them away from me.
I trained and trained. I trained in anything that can help me defeat my enemies, creating prototype bombs and such, and probably because of what I am doing, my family felt a sense of urgency. Father trained us the military style while mother trained us the na'vi way, but it was never enough for me.
(I also secretly learned some poison from an ex-villager, Arvok incorporating it in some of my bombs, lethal even to na'vi and mask breathers, it was risky because he once poisoned my father and at that time the antidote was hard to get, even though it was an accident, it's still risk nonetheless, a risk I was willing to take.
He wanted something in return but something I cannot give, I almost died but what my dad doesn't know won't hurt him.
They were the first three na'vis I killed. Kill or be killed. He was nice but his parents tho...
In na'vi culture, we always keep a part of our first kill, I have his tooth disguised as one of my other kills. I also stole his memories, about poisons and antidotes. It seems he was bidding his time to strike. Shhh)
After learning of how agile and flexible I am, I soon found my own personalized style of fighting. My body was prone to damage and I used to lack strength, I figured I should learn strengthening a bit then focus on my speed.
With all this training, I figured out, why not train others like a na'vi/military training program?
My father proposed this to the council, so that even though the sky people might not return, it will teach them other things while creating a bond between tribes.
I soon found myself as one of the captains after defeating other cadets/junior hunters, using only my wits and speed, sure I was disadvantaged sometimes but I can always pull through, and from this event I earned myself 5 loyal lackies...

Me and neteyam earned our ikran at the same time, but I earned the title of the youngest to thread the dangers of adulthood.
He was 12 and learning to be the next in line, while I was 11. It would have been earlier if it wasn't for my parents discouraging me.
My parents disapproves, for I was just too young they said. I had already tamed a direhorse, even befriended a thanator while it was still a baby. It was my first and last form of disobedience. Even when I was a baby, I didn't prove to be a problem. I was a good baby. Anyways
I remembered that banshee looked me in the eye, snarling. I slapped him, how dare he spit his saliva on me, it was shocked at first but then it retaliated by throwing me off the cliff.
It was a good thing I had my glider on, together with an extra parachute, nothing too fancy.
It was barely noticeable and all my other dumb down inventions were like that. Easy to carry, easy to hide(blend in).
I climb on top again. You should have seen my parents faces, my mom was ready to jump with me.
It was like their eyes rolled back to the back of their heads, straight to their gaping mouths.
I run, throwing a mini flash bomb at it. Making all of the others momentarily shocked and blind too. I took that chance to jump and make a tsaheylu, a bond with it. The others didn't react until I was already flying with it.
Since I was the last one(because I was the youngest)
We all went home, all having fun and enjoying our flight. (Maybe except my mom)
...
There are two equally dangerous and deadly trials/ rituals to adulthood. The
iknimaya and the uniltaron
After getting our ikrans, hunting down a sturmbeest and got our battle band. We were ready to complete uniltaron.
My father said that we had to be stung by an arachnoid and swallow a glowing worm, sending us into a half lucid state. We then sing our own tunes or dance if you like. From there we shall see it.
Your basically on hallucinogens and the people who died just had too much fun/euphoria.
My father said he saw himself on top of a floating mountain cliff, being covered by the Great Leonopteryx's shadow. He then found himself flying over a burning forest...then he awoke. Who knew he'll become Toruk Makto? Funny how fate played out.
..
My parents does not like how things are going, especially so with what happened awhile ago with that ikran, but it's too late to back out now.
My brother Lo'ak and Kiri recounted that after eating the glow worm, my song started as this beautiful heavenly voice(their words, not mine). I had good vocal cords but then It became chaotic, low almost bass then high like a screeching noise. It kinda looked like that time I told them a murder story. It definitely scarred the children.
But it was a massacre, atleast in my vision.
It was too dark then I saw a large singular eye below me, it's arms were too many to count, it attacked a ship.
I marvelled at its might. My vision only came to an end when the sea burned and the screams filled the air.
My spirit animal turned out to be a beast of the seas. An octopus looking creature.
While my brother and mom's was An ikran. That process left me weak for days.
I'm still telling you this so of course I survived.
.....
-back to training...age:13-
My ikran, Kakkhu, is now currently hanging upside down a cliff while I'm laying on it's underbelly, closing my eyes I listen to any anomalies while trying to hide. You see I don't usually put a seat on my ikran, stressing the need to camouflage (it's not like we need it but..you know. I can never be too careful).
Without it's rider, Kakkhu can look like any other ikran, bummer but very feasible. Although in the sun, it's white stripes turn to a light pink, barely noticeable.
I not only trained myself but also me and my family's ikrans, I trained them in formations and how to survive and be smart without a rider controlling them (with the help of father). It was hard I tell you but with the help of my sister, nothing is impossible.
I hear a swoosh and felt an Ikran fly by us. I just knew it had a rider, the flight was just too, straight. I drew my arrow, while my ikran made a little opening with his wings.
I stop, why would a lone cub, ride between two mountains full of sleeping ikrans? There are just too many hiding spots.
It's trap to get rid of a trap.
"Everyone stand down, it's a trap" I talked into the microphone but I was too late "Sha'im!" Shaim was one of the promising but hardheaded cadets, son of another Olo'eyktan, he flew towards the ikran and as predicted, five riders flew out of nowhere, following him.
"Gun, go lead them towards the western territory. Retrieve the flag. I will go save that skxawng"
I motion then Kakkhu lets go of the ridge. And as we free fall, I held onto his side handle and as I climb to his back, at the same time he also flips right side up. My ikran flys fast, quiet, and high and in no time we were already on top of the five riders.
I stand up taking two arrows..and they are out, before they could react, I jumped off landing on another ikran while Kakkhu fly below them. I threw the rider off while my ikran catches him(another out).
Another rider swoops in to take out the last two. It was sha'im.
The ikran under me flys frantic, in panic, without it's rider it goes mad, trying to throw me off it's back. I let go.
"Leylac!" Sha'im shouts.
I don't panic and spread my arms therefore also spreading my wings. I wore clothes that can also be called half a jumpsuit.
I called onto my ikran, and he doesn't disappoint, already below me I close my arms and land. He still had that player I threw in his claws, not hurting him too much tho, cause I taught him how to fetch<( ̄︶ ̄)>.
We heard a bunch of banshees screaming and then I heard from my mask, that we got the flag.
Oh man..done already? this fkin idiot made me miss all the fun. The eight of us flew towards the meeting point. We were all gonna celebrate, this was for this batches last day in training.
We were all having fun, some have glum faces. I stood up to make a speech, congratulating them for a game well done.
"...you made me proud. Although there were idiots(I point at shaim and they all laughed) and there are victors, you all ended up doing a great job. I want you to keep all you have learned for their coming (they look down, not believing...)...."
My father could not come because he was having a date with mom, after another unsuccessful meeting with the others.
It's a good thing they still gave us a home tree, I feel like they would have given it to us earlier if it wasn't for my father's nagging.
I swear when they have a meeting, the others goes ರ╭╮ರ ಠ ೧ ಠ (╥﹏╥)
They'd sigh and say, there he goes again ಠ︵ಠ
or he's at it again ಠ_ಠ
They always looked like they were ready to run or grieve. Σ(ಠ_ಠ)
^_^'' they just don't believe it anymore
"....and even though this is your last day..." I stop, spotting a bright light above the skies. They look at me, puzzled. Then followed my line of sight, they all gasped.
With the party cancelled
We each head back to our individual villages fast. My nightmares quickly coming true.
The star or RDA quickly descended, burning the surrounding forest, coming out with armours and weapons. We all had to flee.
We went to a cave, hidden between the hallelujah mountains. It was already prepared by my father, in cases of emergency. Though, I wish we didn't have to.
Some are injured and crying. While Everyone is so sad and scared.
Everyone was so happy to live in our new mother tree but now we had to leave it again.
I know I trained for this, but for it to actually come true? I'm honestly so scared.
I looked at my dad who was busy helping the evacuees.
He really is Toruk Makto.
Later on all of us can barely sleep, except for tuk who was oblivious and is fast asleep. You can hear my father and mother's silent whisper
I close my eyes, hugging my sister, hoping that tomorrow I wouldn't be so scared anymore.
.....
An adult Na'vi can grow up to 8 to ten feet tall. The average human can only be as tall as their waist level.
Gender doesn't decide a thing. There are a lot of female hunters and leaders while some male choose childrearing.
Although it's true that the Na'vis mate for life, some op to not mate at all but are still sexually active. So yes they can still be playboys.ಠಗಠ I dunno about contraceptives and STD tho. Ask Cameron and come back to me, I'm also curious.
In an avatar comic I never read, it is said that after the war, there was a point in time where Jake Sully was poisoned by Na'vis named Arvok, Artsut, and Ateyo(they were later then banished from the tribe)
Mo'at said that a cure (a flower) lies in a cave too small for an adult Na'vi and too dangerous for a child.
A human woman named hale and her teammates went out to retrieve it. One of those teammates was spider's adoptive parent,Nash McCosker , a former miner.
There were issues of continuing mining, to continue the operations.
Being cut off from the earth's base, the scientist and others found some other stuffs to do.
