The two decided to go to a local restaurant to have dinner and chat. Maya couldn't help but notice how amazing Livia looked that night. Her brown hair was perfectly styled, and she wore a blouse that highlighted her toned arms and jeans that accentuated her slender legs.
"You look amazing tonight, Livia," Maya said, admiring her friend's appearance. "What did you do differently?"
Livia smiled, grateful for the compliment. "I just brushed my hair and put on some simple makeup. Nothing special."
"Well, you look like a model," Maya said, laughing. "I wish I had half of your natural beauty."
The two laughed and continued talking throughout dinner. Maya was happy to have Livia as a friend and couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
As they talked, Maya began to feel a little nervous. She didn't want to ruin the friendship that was starting to develop between her and Livia, but she felt like she needed to be honest.
"Livia, I need to tell you something," Maya said, her voice a little shaky. "I...I don't like boys."
Livia frowned, confused. "What do you mean, Maya?"
Maya sighed, knowing she would have to explain more clearly. "I'm gay, Livia. I like girls."
Livia was silent for a moment, processing the revelation. Then she smiled and put her hand over Maya's. "That doesn't change anything, Maya. I still consider you my friend, no matter who you love."
Maya felt a weight lifted off her shoulders and smiled back at Livia. "Thank you, Livia. I was just afraid you wouldn't like me anymore after this."
Livia laughed. "Never! Now let's order dessert and celebrate this new phase of our friendship."
The two continued to talk and laugh throughout dinner, and Maya felt grateful to have such a understanding and welcoming friend as Livia.
After dinner, the two decided to go to a karaoke room to continue the night. They sang several songs together, laughing and having fun. Maya felt like their friendship was growing stronger with each moment.
While they were singing a romantic song, Livia interrupted the song and held Maya's hands. "Maya, I have to tell you something. I can't keep hiding it anymore."
Maya was nervous, not knowing what to expect. "What is it, Livia?"
"Maya, I have feelings for you," Livia said, her voice soft and sincere. "I know we're friends, but I can't help feeling something more for you. I love you, Maya."
Maya felt a mix of emotions. On one hand, she had never thought of Livia in a romantic way, but on the other hand, she thought Livia was amazing and fun and felt very comfortable around her. She didn't know how to respond.
"Livia, I...I don't know what to say," Maya said, her eyes still fixed on Livia's. "I didn't realize you felt this way about me."
"I understand, Maya," Livia said, letting go of Maya's hands. "I didn't want to pressure you or make you feel uncomfortable. I just needed to tell the truth."
The two continued to sing together, but there was tension between them. Maya didn't know how to feel or what to say. She appreciated Livia as a friend, but she didn't know if she could reciprocate Livia's romantic feelings.
