Dragging the heavy metal baseball bat the man walked into the dark dingy room of the old burnt-down house in the middle of the thick forest with a rapid stream flowing nearby clashing loudly onto every rock every boulder the loud violent flow of the water silenced everything around it.
A man tied to the chair unable to see a single thing pleaded for forgiveness and release to the darkness A man dressed in all black.
The man, who looked nearly 6 foot tall, was wrapped in all-black clothes, and black leather boots and on his head, he donned a biker helmet, and not a single hint of human flesh was visible.
"Pl-pl please let me go! " The man said earning an audible scoff,
The man in black sat down in front of the crying man.
"Where are the girls?" The man in black spoke his voice resonant thunderous almost sending shivers down the other's spine.
"Wh~what girl~"
"The girls that you and your boys kidnapped!" The man in black roared getting up from his seat and pouncing forward towards the man releasing a deep growl,
"Fine fine-" he gulped before continuing "they're at Bridgedadt Wearhouse a~a few miles away from the city!" he stuttered, afraid of the void that looked back at him.
"Wasn't that easy?" said the man in black, in a smirking tone.
The man in black let go of a small chuckle before taking the back of his bat and swinging it enough to knock the man out cold.

The loud vroom of the gorgeous matte black bike made all the people in the area turn their heads to look at the expensive bike that zoomed past, what turned their intrigue to a concerning stare was when they witnessed the vehicle carrying the rider who blended in with the dark night; an unconscious man along with two giggling girls sitting right in the front on top of the gas tank.
A 5foot 10, athletic-built officer in his late thirties, with hair that is long enough to be blowing with the wind, bold hazel eyes that were sunken into the face with under eye bags that came down till his cheekbones with conventionally attractive facial features; ran out the building hearing the familiar engine noise,
But before the officer could even catch a proper glimpse the man dropped the twin girls and the semi-unconscious man at the entrance of the town's police station before zooming away.
"Not this fucker again!" Lieutenant-general Wu shouted as he ran after the motorbike.
"Arghhh, I'm so done with his bullshit!" he shouted exhausted while holding onto his head in pure frustration as he squatted down, he watched the dust settle down, sighing with a sour mood he eventually got up and turned back around and walking back towards the precinct.
While the lieutenant walked back multiple officers had already rushed to get the girls to safety and the man into custody,
"Sir both the kids are unharmed, and ... Uhm ... Vinson decided to confess too... " the officer in charge said cautiously; slightly flinching and gulping when the lieutenant gave him a gruesome look,
"Where are they?"
"Who? "The officer asked confused,
Rolling his eyes, the lieutenant replied "The kids! I want to talk to them before their parents arrive "
"Oh... They are in the break room with sergeant Lowe"
"Alright... what were their names again?" he asked,
"One is called Lia and the other is Mia, and they are 5"
The Lieutenant walked over to the room putting a smile on his face to not scare the already terrified kids.
"Hey! Lia and Mia!" he exclaimed as he walked in,
The two five-year-olds along with the young-looking woman in her late twenties with dark black hair, fair skin, deep brown eyes and a jaw that could cut; looked up and towards the door.
"Sir?" sergeant Lowe called out, a little sceptical as she got up to show her senior respect.
Lieutenant Wu gave a small nod and a soft smile acknowledging the presence of the sergeant.
"Hey! Kids, how are you guys feeling?" Wu asked squatting to the level of the five-year-olds, the twins feeling a little confused and uncomfortable with the addition of the new person in the room took a step back,
"We are okay" Mia replied for the two,
"that's good to know" the lieutenant smiled "do you mind if I ask you a few questions?" He asked and the girls looked towards one another before giving a small coy nod.
Lieutenant smiled and nodded along with them before saying "grate!... the person who saved you- ".
two kids immediately broke into a bright smile, "He's so nice," Mia said before the man could finish his question, "yes!" Lia added supporting her sisters' statement,
fighting his urge to roll his eyes, the lieutenant put on a strained smile and asked, "Oh really? Then do you know what he looks like?".
"No" Lia replied shaking her head.
"Are you guys sure?"
Both the kids nodded, "But..." Mia said, bringing Wu's hopes up, "...he's super awesome!" She cheered. "Super nice too" Lia added on,
The door to the break room swung open "LIA! MIA! AH, MY BABIES GOD I'M SO RELIEVED! THANK GOD" A loud cry followed, as the mother of the two ran to her kids holding them into her embrace,
While the kids and their parents reunited, Lieutenant Wu got back up on his feet not before heaving a disappointed sigh,
"Mr And Mrs Winston the man who kidnapped your kids' has also been brought in," he said,
"Really? That's amazing! Thank you, detective Foie! Thank you so much for bringing our babies back to us safe and sound! " Mr Winston cried, joining his hands in front of the lieutenant.
He gave a small smile as he bowed down in acknowledgement before replying, "sergeant Namtan here will guide you through the rest if you'll excuse me," he said nodding towards Namtan who just nodded back.
He walked out gritting his teeth in annoyance as he made his way to the interrogation room,
"Sir! Sir, I confess I did~" The man sitting in the interrogation room with handcuffs tying him to the table, started spitting out as soon as Wu walked in,
Rolling his eyes at the scared confession Foie replied, "Yeah, yeah, I'm not here for that Vinson"
"Huh ?"
"I'm interested in the man in black, tell me what you witnessed, " Foie asked and saw a familiar scene, Vinson shivered in fear as he looked away.
Foie took a deep breath before asking again, "Who is he ?"
"He's the darkness! He's the spawn of Satan! He– ", shaking his head "He's a human. Have you seen what he looks like?" Foie said cutting the man in handcuffs off, "Why–why would I want to curse myself by seeing him !"
Foei slammed his hands on the metal table in annoyance, creating a loud bang powerful enough to make the man on the opposite side flinch; "Stop with the bullshit! He's a human being "
"Then Have you seen it?" Vinson asked, "what?", replied the lieutenant; "His flesh ?" Vinson asked in a serious tone earning an annoyed eye roll and a loud groan.

Foie sighed as he took a step back to analyse the two new clues he had just added to the massive murder board that the lieutenant had made especially for the Man In Black,
A man who had only shown up about 6 months ago and became the talk of the town in no time.
"Angel? and the devil? What are you?" Throwing his head back at the bizarreness of the situation at hand,
"Why are we even looking for him, sir? I mean sure he had broken laws but it's only to catch bad guys and to help people" a new voice joined, shaking the lieutenant up from his thoughts,
"What do you mean Detective Ruiz ?! "Foie asked fuming with anger,
Seeing the anger the detective immediately replied, "Sorry sir I didn–"
"Sorry? Do you really think this is okay? We should let him run free because he what? hasn't killed anyone yet! "
"I didn't mean that sir–"
"Then what detective? People who take law into their own hands are just as dangerous as the ones who break them! Remember that, "
Looking down towards his feet in embarrassment the detective replied "Yes sir "
"If we let him run wild! Then he'll think of him as a masiha! God himself! Hah, we need to stop him! "
The detective said, "Yes Sir!" like a broken record. Feeling a lot calmer, Lieutenant Foei sighed before giving a small nod towards his junior and left the detective in the room sighing and shaking his head.
Detective Off Ruiz, a 6 foot 2, 32year old, lean and thin man with defined muscles, luscious thick black hair reaching the nape of his neck with a partition running down the middle, rather small, kind eyes a slim nose and decently sized lips, his face fairly proportionate; high cheekbones and a sharp jaw. Stood in the room alone looking through the murder board;
"He's obsessed with him " flinching at the sudden addition to the empty room, "Oh, sergeant Lowe!" Detective Ruiz quickly replied with a kind smile.
Giving back a small apologetic smile sergeant Lowe replied, "Sorry didn't mean to scare you,"
Returning the kind smile, "I was just a little startled that's all!" Off replied, "And I dont know about being obsessed with him sergeant... but he sure has let the man in black consume any and all time he has, but honestly I want to know this man's identity just as much... I mean who doesn't? "
Namtan hummed and sighed as she replied, "But he is always faster", nodding and agreeing with the sergeant, Off replied, "That he is... but dont you sometimes feel like the system is too flawed, I mean where we wait for approval from the higher up to do something, he... he just does it "
"I understand your point Detective, but sometimes the order is important too. There's a way to do things "
"I agree sergeant, but– "
Namtan said, cutting the detective off as she handed a small sheet of paper "Here,".
"What's this ?" Off asked analysing the piece of paper that he got handed,
Namtan looked around the area to ensure that no one was listening in on the two having a conversation before replying, " I heard that The man in black listens to the people, and helps them"
Confused Off replied, "Huh ?".
Rolling her eyes at the oblivious man in front of her, Namtan sighed before replying, "Allegedly People can leave a letter with all their problems at that address and at night he'll take it and judge if he wants to help or not if he agrees then one gets an approval letter back".
Sceptical Off asked, "How do you know this ?", Namtan had a proud smirk on her face as she replied, "I have my sources... it's not that easy to even get this. That man takes heavy precautions to make sure people like us don't know the address"
"So...Why not give it to the lieutenant ?"
Namtan looked away hoping that the detective in front would just let that question go, "sergeant?" Off asked making the sergeant groan as she replied, "Because... Maybe the man in black has a fan ... and this fan also doesn't see him as a threat... but perhaps an ally "
"Serg–"
"I'm not saying what he does is right but whatever he does is for the good. Detective... we need the good guy on our side, don't we? " Namtan smiled,
"I'll see what I can do with this. "
"I know you will Detective".

The detective straightened up his clothes as he got out of his car; he reached the location Namtan had provided him with. It had led him to a rather secluded part of the town, he was in the middle of a long stretch of road with no end in sight, he parked his car he had parked his car on the side of the road opposite a beaten-down bus stand he looked left and right before crossing over.
He reached the bus stand and immediately cringed at the sheer condition of the place, broken seats, flickering lights and garbage all around.
Ironically the only place that looked well-maintained was the dumpster, he chucked to himself when the realisation struck "how selfish, I'm going to assume that here is where I keep the request", he said to himself as he pulled out the now wrinkled-up envelope from his jacket earning a loud crinkling noise in the dead silence making him flinch.
"I don't take requests from Detectives" a low growl came from a higher altitude, Off started looking around to find the source of the voice.
His eyes widened as he saw the man in black standing on top of the bus stand in his usual all-black attire, "Woah! When? How did you get up there? " He asked,
Letting go of a small chuckle, the man in black asked, "Does that really matter here?" before jumping down.
"Don't ever come here again! " he said in a warning tone before lifting up the wind guard of his helmet exposing just his eyes nothing else even his eyebrows,
"That can't be your real voice," the detective said instead intrigued,
The man in black clocked his head a bit seeing the weird nature of the man in front, "leave detective," he said before turning away from the detective.
Seeing the retrieving body Off quickly spoke "Wait! stop! I just want to have a conversation with you !", seeing no response he added, " hey! Stop".
Before Off could follow behind the man in black was already on his bike and zooming away, "tsk... I messed up".
