The Ejo Dynasty Part 2

Brenda Summers, 23 years old. The Captain, Killerkill. She wore a thick white uniform, fit for her role of Captain Searcher. Her blue cloths were still present, tied on her knees and forearms. Her green hair was pulled back into a small bun and the left side of her face was scarred because of the acid attack she suffered.

— Vitrolica said he was already here. — Imperium says. — Was he just found?

Atticus Marigold, 11 years old. The Powerhouse, Imperium. The new black uniform had blue and pink lines swirling from the arms and legs, chest, and waist. He also had a huge scar coming from the right corner of his mouth, that almost reached his ear. He even seemed older, somehow.

— It’s been a week since we killed the third one, why now? — Juice asks.

Finnegan Windsor, 38 years old. The Ranged Shooter, Juice. The man had his iconic hat and coat, but now wore a thicker vest, with a few gizmos stuffed in its pockets. He had three flares gun placed on his hip, back and leg. On his shoulder, a large rifle.

— Maybe he was thinking of a plan to get back at us? — Ragnarok says.

Larissa Guerra, 27 years old. The Brawler, Ragnarok. The woman had her mace in the right hand and her mask on the left one, listening carefully to the explanation. Her short-sleeved uniform was now a bit heftier than usual, and her short hair was down, giving her a patient look.

— Then he might be a bigger scum than Green was. — Franchise says.

Masha Maleviento, 31 years old. The Vanguardist, Franchise. His orange hair was still being pulled backwards by that blue tiara. His missing right arm was replaced by a prosthetic, which, under his black uniform was imperceptible.

— Why would he be? Maybe it just took him a long time to walk to the Wetlands.

Irina Donovan, 31 years old. The Greatest Support. Evangelist. Her massive blonde hair was down, and her black uniform was still the same. Only she now wore a black eye patch to cover her missing left eye. Her crimson scissors were by her hip as always. They glance over to her.

— What? Just because Kruger could teleport doesn’t mean this guy can.

— It doesn’t matter why he took so long. He’s here and he’s surrounded by us.

— I don’t know Cap… Kruger did four squads on his own. I didn’t like that view.

— Yeah, me neither. Very yucky.

— Why didn’t you guys ask for help against Kruger by the way?

— Why didn’t you ask for help with Vitrolica, you chump?

— I was by myself!! You guys were INSIDE the Lapse!

— Imperium’s right though. Me and Franchise were there at the time.

— What are you on about? I didn’t want to fight that freak.

— We didn’t want to let you guys lose another limb.

— Yes sir, easy wins for team Rag-Juice!

They high-five. Killerkill clears her throat.

— Go on Captain. — They say with serious expressions.

Killerkill explains that Ejo, not only was surrounded by greater numbers compared to Kruger, but that these Searchers were now aware of the type of enemy they were facing. Green, Kruger and Vitrolica set a new high standard for threats inside the Wetlands. Do not allow them to move. Do not allow them to speak. Any slightly aggressive action must be meet with lethal and indiscriminate force.

And from what was reported to The Ballada’s Captain, Ejo was complying with every request and exhaled no malice. No ill intent or threat. Some Searchers were hesitant of the idea to have him meet with the squadron that eliminate his allies. But others, including Killerkill herself, were very insistent. Not only were they, the ones to meet with the Anti-Humans in the first place, but it was their members that confirmed the kills. If anything, The Ballada was the anti-Anti-Human squadron, and probably, the best thing to send Ejo’s way.

— I wasn’t feeling another dog day, but… it’s all in day’s work I suppose.

— That’s how a Searcher should answer!

As Franchise and Juice get up, Killerkill interrupts them.

— I have something to say.

They don’t sit back down but pay close attention to the second youngest member.

— Things… happened a bit too fast. And in a way I’m not very comfortable with. But Franchise and Evangelist defeated Green for all of us. Juice and Ragnarok defeated Kruger for the good of The Lapse. And Imperium and I defeated Vitrolica for the sake of this day. I’m oversimplifying yes… I’m sure that if we failed, much greater devastations would have occurred… but I can say that we went beyond our capacities to ensure the safety of everything we care for. And, besides the sacrifices we had to endure, that makes me very happy.

Killerkill looks down, as to hide the crying that begin to swell out.

— I’m not Liver. And I’m not a good fighter like any of you.

She looks back up to see them eye to eye.

— But I will be here for anything, any of you need.

Extending her arm, she invites her dear friends to her.

— And I know that you will be there for me too.

Franchise scoffs at the teary-eyed girl.

— You don’t have to speak the obvious, Captain.

He’s the first one to lay his hand on top of hers.

— But it was nice that you said it. — He smiles.

— COUNT ON ME CAPTAIN!! — Imperium joins, crying harder than Killer.

— That’s it, Imperium!! Let’s go full force!! — Ragnarok joins also moved.

— Always nice to get the band together like this. — Juice joins.

— I don’t have anything smart to say. — Evangelist chuckles, embarrassed.

Being the last one to join, she walks over and places over everyone else.

— But yeah, count on me, guys. For everything.

With their hands together, they smile in unity, knowing their bond was powerful.

— Do we cheer now? — Franchise asked.

— Absolutely. — Said a seriously focused Evangelist.

Outside, in the woods near the Lapse building. It was a grey cloudy day, so out of colour it did not even seem they were in the marshes of the Wetlands. Ejo remained on the ground. The Searchers were at least fifty meters away from him, but no one even dared to look away. Looking up, as if out of a stasis, Ejo alerts the Searchers. The eye bags under his glare were so deep and so plentiful that his stare was enough to provoke terror. Causing everyone to shout and alert him of imminent retaliation. Ejo had sensed an arrival. The flesh worm around his waist and shoulder wakes up, sensing the intentions of his master.

— They came to see me. — Ejo says, happily.

— WE ORDERED YOU TO STAY QUIET!!! ELIMINATE EJO NOW!!!

— HOLD YOUR FIRE!!! — Killerkill yells.

About one in a hundred Searchers was a captain. In the area they were 3 presents. And it was one of those captains, that ordered the death of the Anti-Human. But that green-haired woman was also a captain, and she ordered everyone to stay back. The Ballada walks through the masses. That tight and small group had a different light to them. After everything they have been though, especially the last few days, easily one of the greatest squadrons of the generation.

— The Ballada will take it on from here. You can all leave. — And before anyone could argue with her. — If we are all killed by him, only then you are welcome to join the fight.

The squadrons slowly back out until The Ballada is left alone with Ejo.

— That’s our man? — Juice asks.

— You know it when you see it… — Evangelist says.

The Ballada lays their eyes on Ejo for the first time.
