The Ejo Dynasty Part 5

Ejo grabs Ragnarok by the leg and slams her into the ground, feeling the brunt of his own attacks. Imperium gets a clean hit aimed at Ejo’s neck. Except that one of Ejo’s emerald eyes changed direction and spotted the attack coming. Ejo grabs the rotation as if it was a projectile and channels his own VSS to cancels the power in his hand. The three eyes on the left side of Ejo’s face, stare at Imperium while the other stares at Ragnarok.

— Think of your parents Atticus…

— What do you mean?! — Imperium shouts.

— Over here, you emo bitch!! — Ragnarok continues to battle with him.

With his feet getting planted into the ground with every attack. Dividing his eyes and attention between the enemies, Ejo fights Ragnarok with one hand and catches Imperium’s attacks with the other. The woman was making herself lighter on the move and heavier on the impact to damage Ejo the most she could.

“This guy…” — Killerkill admires him. — “And he’s not even utilizing his greatest weapon yet. We need to kill before he starts convincing us otherwise. With eyes like mine, he will definitely talk us out fighting him. But the rest of the world will not be willing to sit down and listen to him. Either he dies now, or a mountain of problems will follow.”

— It’s better for the world to not know what happened here.

Franchise slices the air ahead of him, cutting the space between him and the grey clouds. Teleported into the air he spot Ejo. Ragnarok notices her ally and hits Ejo again, increasing the gravity on him by the greatest amount she could. Before the Anti-Human could adapt to the weight and move again, Franchise cuts space again. Putting himself behind Ejo, Franchise locks his arms around him.

— NOW!! — He screams

— A submission hold?

Ejo was surprised by this move, especially when his extra four eyes spotted the sniper.

— This one is for you, sucka!

The air around the shooter is pushed back by the blast within the rifle’s chamber. And the green bullet leaves a trail across the battlefield, piercing Ejo’s and Franchise’s heart. But thanks to Shared Feelings, Ejo’s heart is destroyed with double the power. Feeling the recoil but sensing he was fine; Franchise let’s go of Ejo.

— It’s one thing if our pain is transferred to you. — Killer notes.

Ejo kneels down, bleeding from the baseball sized hole in his chest.

— It’s another if you get hit directly. There’s no exchange rate is there?

Ragnarok, Imperium and Franchise surround the man. Feeling the winter air of death crawl on his skin, Ejo tries to breath. In his lonesome struggle, a voice calls for him. It was a soft voice, that filled him joy and strength. It came from a treasured memory that he couldn’t quite recall in its full majesty. Regardless of time and space, if he heard that voice call to him, he would certainly be capable of great feats.

— I don’t need a heart.

He breathes out, sharply.

— That’s because…

A vision of somebody comes to him.

— I…

Despite the injury, he stands up against his enemy.

— I… already offered my heart to her.

The Searchers witness Ejo. It was time for him to use a bit more excessive force. And combine his superior strength with the greatest power of all, words. Imperium snaps his fingers and lands a power rotation that shreds his whole upper body. And Ragnarok swings her mace against the enemy’s head launching him away. As he lands, Juice explodes him with an energized flare. Franchise rushes after him and spots the man tumbling out of the smoke cloud.

— FOUND IT!

Evangelist spots a valuable Thread on the worm. The Thread that stated, “Jumbo can move.”. She pulls the vibrant crimson fibber out of the creature, tensioning it. And with her scissors, cuts it off immediately. Jumbo could no longer move. Not calling for Juice as to not disturb his support, she stabs the worm with her scissors. Right over it’s forehead, over and over again. It could only scream for it’s life.

Once the worm died, it went limp and fell off from Killer.

— Well done… — Killerkill says, feeling lighter already.

Ejo’s two extra pairs of eyes disappear, and the lack of information confuses him momentarily. A bullet blows Ejo’s right hand apart, making him lose three fingers. A rotation causes a large chunk of his left tight to go missing. The gravity mace is thrown, removing a lump on the right side of Ejo’s abdomen. Another bullet blows his left shoulder to bits, almost causing his arm to fall off.

His indigo vest was now in rags. Franchise than grabs the blistered Anti-Human by the neck. The bluff pays off, as Ejo forgets which arm was the real one — the only one in which the Searcher’s VSS could work on. But judging by the fact that he was not instantly decapitated, Ejo learns that his right arm was the real one and holds it by the elbow, preventing Franchise from attacking.

— Sorry Ejo… — Killerkill speaks sadly.

With his grip on the right arm, Ejo notices that it was far too durable to be a human’s arm. That was a small mistake on the Anti-Human’s part.

— You almost had me. — Franchise says.

Clenching his grip on the Anti-human’s neck, Franchise decapitates Ejo.

“I know I made a great mistake…”

Ejo’s body falls, and his expressionless head rolls next to it.

“But I wish I knew what it was…”

Ragnarok and Imperium reach Franchise and witness Ejo’s death first-hand. Juice eases his grip on his rifle and lowers it. Evangelist and Killerkill also get up and walk. The Ballada gathers at that spot. Each one of them exhaled sharply, letting go of the tension of battle. Thankfully, because of Ejo’s massive flowing hair, no one could see his face. And the bleeding neck too wasn’t exposed bare.

“I wish I knew, for what purpose I was born.”

Ejo finds himself in a field of flowers. A funeral was taking place. He was in a suit. And he was a man. Holding his heart in his arms, a 6-year-old Emma.

— Where did Mommy go?

“That’s right.”

— Mommy had to go to another place, Emma.

“I was born for her.”

— Did she leave me? Because I was a bad girl?

“The answer behind my existence.”

— Of course not, pumpkin… she didn’t want to leave you. She loves you.

How could I have told my daughter that her mother committed suicide. Something plagued her body and her mind. To the point she’d rather end her own life. I wish I had known better. We had nothing. We were just a couple of love birds that liked to dream. But once we learned we were going to have a baby, something clicked within us. We must become responsible for the child’s sake. That is when we became adults. And I suppose, it was then that I made my mistake.

— But don’t worry, baby. Daddy is still here.

“Is to devote my everything to her.”

I became a Searcher. Before The Lapse was even conceived on paper. They called me Journey. And I was quite good at it. Fortune came and I had ensured a future for the ones I loved. But my wife feared for the worst. She could not trust me with my own life. The dangers of the Wetlands were many and many, which were lethal.

I’d come home, exhaling the stench of death. My expression must have grown darker, and I was made blind. Otherwise, I would have seen the evil I brought upon my own purpose. Once the VSS had fused with my body completely, I became a different being. And a non-human like me was not supposed to be by her side.

My presence intoxicated her, and from that moment onwards I had already lost. Our family will now forever be fractured. But I will not allowed that to be a source of agony. Not for her. I will dedicated every fibber of my being. Every ounce of strength. She is my purpose. As long as I have her, I am immortal.

— I said…

The Searchers look back in fear. That was not the voice they wanted to hear again, especially not with such a furious undertone. Behind them, was a battered corpse, furiously bloodied. Still standing. Mangled, his vest fell apart. With steaming pressure, moving on its own. His foot destroys his own decapitated head. And a new head grows. A new heart can be seen taking form. All the wounds begin to disappear.

— I am immune… to your pain…

His massive black hair, now unbound, sways with the gale. A reformed Ejo presents himself to his enemies. Juice lets go of his rifle and grips both his flare guns. Although tired, the others also ready themselves.

— SEARCHERS!!!

Killerkill swallows dry.

— I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND IT NOW!!

Seeing Ejo’s dark blue VSS essence flow around him.

— UNTIL I SERVE MY PURPOSE!!!

Ejo, the Superior, makes a stand.

— I WILL NEVER DIE!!!
