Four.
Carson felt somewhat relieved that the warriors had arrived and his mate had more people to protect her but he missed her greatly and the two days seemed to take the long route before getting here.
He watched from a distance as the warriors approached her with a smile.
“Hi” Aryanna said startling Audrey.
“You scared me, hi, can I help you” Audrey said as she placed a hand on her chest to slow down her racing heart.
“I’m Aryanna and this is my mate Chad, and this is Alton and his mate Hazel”
“Oh hi, I’m Audrey” she answered as she shook them. She felt sparks that gave the ‘I know these people’ feeling.
“It’s nice to meet you, we’re new here and we’re wondering if we could sit with you at lunch” Aryanna said with a smile.
“Oh uhm, okay I guess” great Hazel said.
“Like it or not, we’re besties now” she said making Audrey smile with her.
“No fair, I spoke to her first”Aryanna said pouting.
“We can all be besties” Audrey said making Aryanna smile.
“Great, then let’s go, I’m hungry” Chad said pushing everyone forward toward the cafeteria.
Did I just make new friends Audrey wondered.
As they walked, Alton’s eyes met with Carson who nodded in approval.
“At least Luna won’t be as lonely anymore” Ian spoke.
“She wouldn’t have to be anymore when I mate with her” Carson said as he diverted his eyes.
Just then it met with cold ones. Carson furrowed his brows trying to recognize the aura around the two wolves staring at him.
If they were spies sent to hurt his mate, and they were not clever ones. With just a look, they had blown their own cover.
Their eyes challenged Carson and he didn’t like it.
“Calm down Alpha” Ian said though the mind link. “You don’t want them to make a scene when your mate is close by”
Carson released his balled fist and sighed.
“Let’s go”.
“Hey Dad, you busy?” Carson asked his father through the mind link..
“No son, everything alright?” alpha Nigel asked getting worried.
“I’m fine, just noticed some spies on my tail lately, they smell different. A little of werewolf and more of cold blood, so whatever plan you’re making use the mind link with the person so it stays a secret” Carson warned.
“Spies? Who could have let them into the city?”
“I don’t know dad, but we need to be extra careful. Also I’d like to be the last person that goes on stage, that way if anything happens, at least people would have met their mates”
“Actually, we have some sort issue. The alphas know its your year to choose your mate so they would like to have a combined ceremony. That way they can be sure that your mate could be found and on our part, the eyes on the pack would ease up a little bit.”
“Would a day be enough for them to get here?” Carson asked his father.
“Not our problem son, they want to be here, they’d have to make or we do the ceremony without them.” Alpha Nigel retorted.
“Good, I’m not postponing a day to be with my mate”
Alpha Nigel chuckled at the desperation of his son and closed the link.
Carson looked at his Beta and Gamma and bit his lip.
“Alton, I need to speak to you and the others” Carson spoke.
“Do you need us to meet you Alpha?” Alton asked giving Carson the respect.
“Mind linking is safer at this point”
“When would you like to talk?”
“Right now, we don’t have much time”
Alton looked at his fellow warriors and mate and gave them the ‘we need to talk look’. He closed the link with the Alpha and opened on with them.
“Alpha Carson would like a conversion”
“Really? When?”
“Right now through the mind link, I’m going to invite him in”
“Alpha, we’re all here”
“Thank you Alton, thank you for talking to me on short notice, but it’s urgent that we come up with a strategy so I can convey the news to my father. I’m going to invite my beta and Gamma to join the conversation” Carson gave Ian the looked and they joined in.
“These are my beta and Gamma Ian and Danny. Now as you all know the mating ceremony is tomorrow and there are spies on ground tailing me as it is and I need us to come up with a plan”
“Hazel and I would be with Audrey throughout the day Alpha” Aryanna chipped in.
“Alright then just don’t make it obvious, just go on with your girlie activities. As for the rest of us, any conversation regarding myself or the luna should be strictly made through the mind link. And I would be standing on stage last, this way wolves have the chance of meeting their mates. And instead of calling my mate to stage I’ll walk to her and mark her. I have a feeling she’s going to know who I am to her before the ceremony starts so we’ll have to be extra careful”
“You don’t have to worry Alpha, we’ll be circled around her. They won’t get a chance to get to her before the marking” Chad said.
“Thank you”
The link was disconnected and they all went on with their day.
A few more hours and he would have his mate in his arms. Carson plans to tell her how he feels about her. And when he marks her, he would be sure to pour out his love through the bite for her to feel.
The thing about being the prophesied Alpha, Carson didn’t look forward to the power being with his mate would bring. If anything, he just wanted her close to him like a normal wolf. He dreaded the coming days but looked forward to the time he would spend with her.
