Adelaine

Far away from the dungeon.

Inside a grand palace

"Syllia, is your information true?"

"Obviously, do you think I would make any mistakes in such a simple task? Folwin?"

"What Syllia said is true, I have been informed by my followers that the human empire was successful in bringing those wretched parasites into our world!"

"Hmmph, Hamon, have you sent your own men to find out? I guess you do not have any trust in the information I provide. I might as well retire from my role in the intelligence department since all of you decided to do it yourself!"

"I was just making sure the intelligence is true since a small mistake can be fatal for us, don't start again, Syllia Elaynore."

"Mention my name again, and you won't know what killed you, Hamon Aravaris!"

"Quiet down! Do you have to fight amongst yourselves every time there is a meeting of the council?"

"You two are part of the Seven Cardinals, aren't you ashamed of your foolish antics?

"Don't try to lecture me, Alred. You don't have what it takes!"

"Syllia! Do you want me to be punished? Do I, your majesty, have what it takes to punish you?!"

"I apologize. Your majesty." The woman sat down with a cold face.

Syllia Elaynore, the 6th Cardinal of the Elven Empire, has crimson-coloured hair and a charming body, but none should be blinded by her beauty as her hands have been tainted by the blood of thousands of lives.

She always thought that no one could stand in front of their powers, not even those so-called heroes of the human empire, who are just stronger foes than the rest.

Ever since her town was raided and families and friends slaughtered by the wretched dark elves. She has trained under the hands of the first cardinal, who picked her up after recognizing her talent for magic swordsmanship.

"There is no reason to be wary of those heroes." Syllia continued, " Leave it to me and my army, we will head out immediately." She proposed.

"You don't understand Syllia, if it were so easy to head over to the human land and do what you said to do, we wouldn't have this meeting at all."

"You haven't fought against the humans, you don't know how cruel and sly they are," the king reasoned.

"Elder Pharom, you have fought against the last generation of heroes once, I assumed you knew the power they possess. Should I be worried?"

"It is of no worry, Your Majesty. I am not ignoring the might of the power these so-called heroes possess, but in the end, they are just geniuses who have more talent than the rest."

"I meant to say that humans can only stick to seeking the help of beings from another world because they do not have the talent or the bloodline to produce god-gifted individuals themselves. Whereas us elves blessed by the God of Life do not lack the talent or bloodline and have already produced geniuses after geniuses for ages."

"Sigh, I will follow your advice, Elder. If no one has anything else to comment on, then the meeting is hereby finished!"

Brightwing Empire.

In the City of Light, a group of people can be seen doing all sorts of exercises as they follow the commands of one another.

The summoned heroes have been training in the hands of Captain Jerud of the 3rd Army of the Knights of Valor. Once they have completed the basic training, they will be sent to different captains to train specifically for their roles.

"Huff."

"Man, I was excited with the thought of being heroes, but this is torture..."

"Haha, Kuro, we all got carried away by that stupid Anthony... He just wants to stick his nose into someone else's business."

"Right, we could have used these powers to do whatever we wanted. Imagine sleeping with a noble girl. I jacked myself off imagining the princess's body under me, hehe."

"Sssh, don't try to get us into trouble, you idiot!"

"Tch.. disgusting bastards"

"Hey, Adelaine! What did you just call us?"

Kuro, what can you do about it? You don't even know the situation we are in, do you really think you can do whatever you want just because you're a hero?"

"Adelaine is right, Kuro. Remember what happened to Amy? We haven't seen her for a week now, who knows what happened to her?"

"Fine, it's not like I did it on purpose, I just wanted to relax after this stupid training."

The captain looked on, he heard everything these kids were saying. If not for the princess reminding him to ignore the mindless chatter of the otherworlders, he would have immediately cut down the head of whoever degraded the princess's honour.

Jerud turned his back to the heroes, making sure that no one saw him, and chuckled.

"If you become strong enough, good for you, but if not, it will be exciting to see your faces after the princess has no use for you anymore."

"Get back to your dorms! We will continue the training early in the morning, have a good meal, and get enough sleep since tomorrow is the last day of the basic training."

"All of you will soon be divided into seven groups and will be placed under the hands of experienced captains to conquer dungeons for the safety of the people of the city."

"There are three dungeons in the borders of the city, which have caused the people great fear and trouble. As heroes, all of you are required to put an end to it."

"Each of you can get the intel on all three dungeons from me after dinner."

Some were afraid, some were expectant, and some were determined, but most of the heroes still haven't come to terms with the fact that they are in another world.

Soon they will learn the true nature of this world.

One of the boys clarified with the rest, just to be sure.

"Do dungeons really exist?"

"Haha, idiot, do you still think this is a dream or something? Go tell the princess you are scared, I wanna see what the princess does with you."

"I never said I was scared, who knows, I might end up saving your asses inside the dungeon."

"By the way Adelaine, can I team up with you? "

"Me too, me too. The captain said you have the fastest growth amongst us, which means you're stronger, right?"

"I don't talk with baggage, I will only team up with people who can help me. This is not the earth, remember, a silly mistake will lead to death."

Adelaine was annoyed, her classmates still haven't realized the danger they are going to face. She was sure that the so-called dungeons were just a cover-up planned by the princess to eliminate the useless bunch from the strong. In this world, nothing is free, just like it was in their original world.

The empire will not provide valuable resources to be wasted on useless people.

She was worried about the fate of her classmates but did intend to put herself at risk to inform others about her opinion.

She knew from the very day Amy vanished the true nature of the empire: all the empire needed was our powers, which, once their uses are over, we will be rid of instantly.

Adelaine gazed at the castle far away in the center of the city. She was determined to become strong enough to protect herself when that happened.

"Your Highness, I have informed the heroes about the dungeons."

The princess glanced at the captain before she answered.

"What were their reactions?"

"Nothing much. Some were hesitant about the idea of going inside a dungeon, but most of them were ignorant about it."

"Hmm, soon they will pay the price of being ignorant, we have done whatever we could for them. If they end up losing their petty lives in the dungeon, then so be it. not all of them are required by the empire anyways,"

"By the way, have you found anyone who seems to possess any other skills? Just like how we weren't able to see the unique skill on that boy's status, some of them could be hiding it on purpose," she added.

"Your Highness, I have not noticed anyone with such skills, but I will be more observant in the future."

"Fine, you are dismissed."

Troublesome kids should be glad that they were treated as any prince or princess of the empire, but they chose to be selfish. Ladia was pissed, if not for the stupid boy informing us of his unique skill, no one would have known about such a thing.

She was sure that Kuro wasn't the only one with a unique skill, it was due to her own talent that she took control of the empire into her own hands. It is not a small village or city, but a whole empire. The amount of work she had to do and what she had sacrificed will not be ruined because of some kids who don't know how to be grateful.
