The ordinary world is not what it seems.
Many strange events unfold in the background but go unnoticed by the masses or are covered up.
A supernatural world exists along with the natural world which can only be seen by those called Balancers.
Spirits and Evil Spirits exist along with Balancers who possess unique powers to see and fight them.
Among the many ordinary humans, a girl undergoes a lot of suffering and experiences a prophetic vision.
It grants her knowledge of the hidden world and of some future events.
The girl loses almost everything she has and then takes the steps needed to become a Balance Breaker.
Her past identity has to be abandoned for the sake of survival so she renamed herself Ash.
Ash gains the powers of a Skin-Walker and begins living in such a world taking on the appearances of others, experiencing their lives and living under the mask of another person.

Breaker: From A Nobody To A Villainess

Sometimes it would result in something being lost and inflicting some kind of extra burden upon the Balance Breaker.

The ritual Ash had performed required a cost which was the lives of others while it had additional after-effects which still influenced her but it was to be an expected cost for such a great gain.

Each cost could take something from herself or could inflict something onto her as a result.

Other methods would not require a personal sacrifice and it was possible to make an offering that would be suitable enough for what would be given.

Each little offering that would be required was already written in her book so all that Ash needed to do was make preparations to gain each one before actually going through with it.

Whatever the natural laws were or what balance needed to be maintained, Ash had already stepped outside of such things and she believed that such things were not beneficial for her.
