The ordinary world is not what it seems.
Many strange events unfold in the background but go unnoticed by the masses or are covered up.
A supernatural world exists along with the natural world which can only be seen by those called Balancers.
Spirits and Evil Spirits exist along with Balancers who possess unique powers to see and fight them.
Among the many ordinary humans, a girl undergoes a lot of suffering and experiences a prophetic vision.
It grants her knowledge of the hidden world and of some future events.
The girl loses almost everything she has and then takes the steps needed to become a Balance Breaker.
Her past identity has to be abandoned for the sake of survival so she renamed herself Ash.
Ash gains the powers of a Skin-Walker and begins living in such a world taking on the appearances of others, experiencing their lives and living under the mask of another person.

Max was torn between two different approaches that he could take.

One part of him wanted to just throw away caution so that the situation he was in could be solved.

The other part of him wanted to remain vigilant to avoid being trapped in a situation he could no longer retreat from.

The main issue was that there was no other solution that could help solve his problem.

He lacked the job experience and education needed to find another way to solve everything while the situation was worsening every day and the family could not make any more money.

If he kept denying someone like Gerald then even Max knew that the same offer would not be given to him again if Max came back later.

Surely the conditions involved with such an offer would be far less than what had currently been offered or the offer would no longer be made available to him.
