Staying Mad at Elicia Is Hard

Earth Land, Ishgar, Kingdom of Fiore, Magnolia.

March, x785.

"Lici! Stop!"

*Thud!*

While Yoruichi was talking with Alfonzo, Elicia had continued her search for him all over Magnolia. Then, after being unable to find him, she returned to the mansion in a panic, hopped in her Z3, and decided to check every town in Fiore one by one.

And if that was not enough to find him, she would check every other nation on Ishgar, too.

However, before she could make it to the town gates, Elicia heard someone shouting her name. Then, there was the sound of something landing on the roof of her Z3.

Looking up through her sun roof, she saw Yoruichi, who looked to be quite relieved for some reason.

"What is it?" Elicia asked in a somewhat hostile tone.

Seeing Elicia's expression, Yoruichi could not help but feel even more guilty about all the problems she caused. Still, there was something she needed to do. More specifically, something she had to tell Elicia. So, she could wallow in her guilt later.

"I found him." Yoruichi said as calmly as she could.

*Screech!*

Hearing that, Elicia immediately slammed on the brakes, nearly throwing Yoruichi off the vehicle's roof. Luckily, Yoruichi was expecting something like that, so, she hopped off the roof as soon as her words ended.

A moment later, the Z3's driver side door was swung open. Then, Elicia jumped out of the car and rushed over to Yoruichi.

"Where is he?" Elicia questioned loudly while grabbing Yoruichi by the shoulders.

By now, the townsfolk in the area were all focusing on Elicia and Yoruichi. But at this point, Elicia could not care less about what others thought of her.

"Calm down, Lici." Yoruichi said while patting Elicia's hands. "We're causing a scene."

"I don't fucking care!" Elicia shouted, surprising Yoruichi greatly with her use of profanity. "Where is my Fonzie? Please… Just tell me where he is…"

By the end, Elicia had broken down int tears. After realizing she had betrayed Alfonzo's trust and how badly she had hurt him, her emotions were running wild.

"*Sigh* I really am sorry, Lici." Yoruichi said quietly.

"Where is he!?" Elicia shouted once again.

"On the guild hall's roof." Yoruichi replied.

In the next instant, Elicia vanished from sight. And when Yoruichi looked in the direction of the Fairy Tail guild hall, she saw her bounding from rooftop to rooftop with the aid of her threads.

"I'm really gonna have to work hard, I guess." Yoruichi muttered to herself. "Even if Alfonzo's other girls don't accept me, I'll still have to make it up to him. Lici, too. And regaining her trust will probably be even harder than regaining Alfonzo's."

Shaking her head after voicing her thoughts, Yoruichi's gaze fell on Elicia's abandoned Z3.

"*Sigh* I guess I'll take this back to their house." Yoruichi said as she approached the magic vehicle.

Then, she sat in the driver's seat. However, before she could close the door, someone grabbed it, stopping her from completing the action.

Looking up, Yoruichi saw a dark brown-haired woman and an orange-haired man glaring at her from next to the car.

"Who are you? And what are you doing with Lici's car?" The dark brown-haired woman, Cana, asked in a stern, threatening tone.

"Damn… This is awkward." Yoruichi muttered.

While Yoruichi was explaining the situation to Cana and Gildarts, Elicia had reached the Fairy Tail guild hall. However, instead of scaling the tower immediately, she stood at its base and looked upwards nervously.

["Why the hell are you hesitating?"] Elicia's [Weapon Spirit] asked impatiently. ["You've been searching the whole town for him. You were even ready to search the whole damn continent. But now that you found him, you freeze up like a deer in headlights."]

"Because I'm scared." Elicia muttered. "Scared that he ran away again after feeling me coming. Scared that he won't listen to me. Scared that he doesn't love me anymore."

["Oh, for goodness sake."] The [Weapon Spirit] said in exasperation. ["Just climb the tower. If he's not there, then just start looking for him again. And if he is, tell him what you were thinking when you went along with that dumb ass plan. It's not that hard."]

"That's easy for you to say." Elicia muttered. "You don't know how I feel."

["Wow! I guess what they say is true."] The [Weapon Spirit] said. ["When people panic, their IQ is sacrificed. Of course, I know how you feel, dumb ass. I'm a part of you."]

"Oh, now that you mention it…" Elicia muttered.

["Just climb the damn tower."] The [Weapon Spirit] barked. ["When you get up there, you can cross whatever bridge you find."]

"*Sigh* Yeah." Elicia said, her expression turning resolute.

Then, just as she raised her hand to fire her threads at the top of the guild hall, she opened her eyes wide when she felt Alfonzo's magic power signature at the top of the tower.

["I guess he got tired of waiting."] The [Weapon Spirit] said.

Elicia, on the other hand, did not speak a word. Instead, she shot her threads at the top of the guild hall. Then, when they were secure, she retracted them at high-speed, catapulting herself towards the top of the tower.

Eventually, Elicia soared above the top of the tower. And when she looked down at the roof, she finally saw him.

Currently, Alfonzo was still laying on the roof with his arms and legs spread out. And as soon as Elicia saw him, she fired her threads at the roof, on either side of Alfonzo, before retracting them quickly.

Seeing Elicia diving towards him from the air, Alfonzo only had one thought.

'This is gonna hurt.'

*Thump!*

"Urgh!" Alfonzo groaned as Elicia slammed into his torso.

"Fonzie! Fonzie! Fonzie! Fonzie! Fonzie!" Elicia cried as she wrapped her arms around Alfonzo's neck and buried her face in his chest.

At this point, Elicia's instinct was to tell Alfonzo how sorry she was. However, her [Weapon Spirit] was shouting in her mind to remind her that she would only be taking advantage of Alfonzo's nature if she did that. So, Elicia just cried while repeating Alfonzo's name over and over.

Meanwhile, Alfonzo just laid on the guild halls roof while staring up at the sky. Then, after a few minutes, he placed his right hand on Elicia's head and began combing his fingers through her hair.

"Elicia, we really need to talk." Alfonzo said calmly.

Hearing Alfonzo call her by her full name for the first time since they were six years old in this life, Elicia's cries stopped while her breathing hitched. Then, she cautiously looked up to see the expression on Alfonzo's face. And her heart broke when she saw the expressionless mask he was wearing. Though, the pain he was feeling could still be seen in his eyes.

"You know." Alfonzo said without looking at Elicia's face. "I'm really disappointed in you."

That statement was even worse than if Alfonzo had started yelling at her. However, Elicia did not lower her head. Instead, she continued to look Alfonzo in the face while waiting for the rest of what he had to say.

"Although what you did doesn't change the fact that I love you. Nor does it change how much I love you." Alfonzo continued. "But you… I…"

At that point, even Alfonzo started to cry. Something Elicia hadn't seen since the day he found out that his career as an athlete was over in their past life.

"I know what I did was wrong, Fonzie." Elicia said, her tears beginning to flow once again. "I know I hurt you… Betrayed your trust… But I swear… I never meant to hurt you. I just wanted to make everyone happy."

"I know." Alfonzo replied while wiping the tears from his eyes with the back of his left hand. "But that doesn't change what you did."

"You're right." Elicia replied before hanging her head in shame. "I really messed up this time."

With that, the two fell silent for a while. And the whole time, Elicia remained on Alfonzo's chest while Alfonzo continued to comb his fingers through her hair.

"What can I do… to make it up to you?" Elicia muttered. "Just tell me what you want me to do… and I'll do it. I'd do anything for you, Fonzie."

Once again, the roof fell into silence.

"Honestly, I don't know." Alfonzo replied after a brief pause. "I mean, we've never really been like this before, have we. It was always me doing something in the past. Something that I needed to make it up to you for."

"I know, I'll go punish Yoruichi." Elicia said with a hint of anger flashing in her eyes. "This is all her fault, after all."

*Smack!*

"Kya!" Elicia yelped as Alfonzo swatted her on the butt.

"You're just as much to blame for this is she is." Alfonzo said sternly.

"But she tricked me.!" Elicia retorted.

"Did she?" Alfonzo asked. "Actually, before you showed up, she found me up here. And we talked about all this."

With that, Alfonzo told Elicia about the conversation he had with Yoruichi. And Elicia listened attentively.

"So, when the other girls get back in town, I'm going to tell them about what happened." Alfonzo said, concluding his story. "And I'll let them decide if Yoruichi can join us or not."

Then, for the first time since she arrived on the rooftop, Alfonzo looked Elicia in the eyes.

"And you won't have a say in this, at all." Alfonzo continued.

"I understand." Elicia replied with her head lowered.

"I think I'll let them decide how you should be punished, too." Alfonzo said, once again looking up into the sky. "Because It's no secret that I'll go easy on you if I'm the one to decide."

["Wow! He really knows himself well."] Elicia's [Weapon Spirit] exclaimed.

'Yeah… Fonzie really is the best.' Elicia replied mentally.

["*Sigh* I can't even find a way to deny it."] The [Weapon Spirit] replied. ["Though he definitely has his flaws. But for some reason, I feel like it's okay to ignore them. And I have no doubt that feeling is influenced by the fact that I'm made from a part of your soul."]

'Hehe.' Elicia giggled internally.

["Stop that."] The [Weapon Spirit] ordered. ["Anyway, look at his [Soul Weapons], they've changed. I think he's released their first seal."]

Hearing that, Elicia raised herself off of Alfonzo's chest. Now, she was straddling his waist while glancing at the transformed Tonfa lying next to Alfonzo on the roof.

"Um… Fonzie… Did you?" Elicia asked hesitantly.

Though he did not look at her when she sat up, Alfonzo let his gaze fall on Elicia when she started speaking.

"Did you… learn your [Soul Weapon's] name?" Elicia continued with excitement in her eyes as her gaze shifted between the differently colored tonfa.

"Yeah, I learned their names." Alfonzo replied casually.

"Names?" Elicia asked, her excitement growing. "Does that mean you have two spirits?"

"Yeah." Alfonzo replied.

"Awesome!" Elicia shouted as she flopped back down on Alfonzo's chest. Then, she wrapped her arms around his neck as she continued. "Congratulations, Fonzie!"

For the first time since he woke up, Alfonzo let a smile find its way on to his face at Elicia's congratulations.

"Thanks." Alfonzo said while combing his fingers through Elicia's hair again.

Then, after a few more moments, Elicia sat up once again.

"So, what's the release command? Have you tried it out yet? What can your Shikai do?" Elicia asked, bombarding Alfonzo with questions.

"Calm down, I can only answer one question at a time." Alfonzo replied while getting flash backs of the first time he and Elicia talked about how they would live in this world.

["Now I see why you decided to let the other girls punish her."] Bedlam said in what sounded like a surprised tone. ["Despite what she did last night, Even I'm finding it hard to stay mad at her."]

["Hmph!"] Riot cut in. ["Why should you be mad at her at all? She put up with so much shit for your ass. And you got so fucking angry over one mistake?"]

["Meanwhile, Riot looks like a love struck fool."] Bedlam added in a teasing tone.

["Shut the fuck up, Bedlam!"] Riot shouted in rage. ["Don't make me kill you!"]

'Yeah, and I'd venture a guess that he represents more than just my rage.' Alfonzo replied. 'He probably embodies my love for Elicia, too.'

Immediately, Riot stopped raging at Bedlam and fell silent.

'And I can feel that you're more than just my arrogance, Bedlam.' Alfonzo continued. 'No, I guess it should be called self-confidence. Though, if you had been created when I was still a kid in my past life, it would be arrogance.'

["Good assessment."] Bedlam replied. ["But we should talk about this later. She's still waiting for a response."]

'Right.' Alfonzo replied.

"Were you just talking to your [Spirits]? What are their names? What are they like?' Elicia asked as soon as she noticed Alfonzo was back to his senses.

"Like I said, one question at a time. And yeah, I was talking to them." Alfonzo replied with a wry smile. Then, he gestured to the tonfa with a sun flare pattern and the one with the violet lightning pattern, in that order. "And their names are Riot and Bedlam. As for their personalities… Well, they're a lot like me with certain emotions being much more dominant."

Hearing that, Elicia was about to start asking more questions excitedly. However, Alfonzo placed his index finger on her lips.

"We can talk more about this later." Alfonzo said. "For now, we should get down to the ground. Cana and Gildarts are back. And they're coming to the guild hall with Yoruichi."

"Oh, I need to go take my car back home, too." Elicia said.

"No, you don't need to worry about that." Alfonzo replied. "Yoruichi took it back after you left it on the street."

Elicia immediately blushed in embarrassment.

"I guess I need to thank her for that." Elicia said quietly.

"You should talk to her, too." Alfonzo said as he stood up.

"Yeah, I know." Elicia said as she stood up as well.

Then, Alfonzo wrapped his arm around Elicia's waist and flew them both down to the ground, landing in front of Cana, Gildarts, and Yoruichi.
