Seeing this many demons at once, even an adult would probably cry away to their mommies.

And yet, all I felt was a simple worry.

Very quickly, I dropped my bag on the ground and started running forward. The smoke demons can run very quickly, and they can move fast as well. The range of my squirt guns is only less than three meters, which means I have to be extremely close to them to take them out.

And against demons that can move so fast?

I'm still fine. In fact, I'm just very confused right now.

My legs can move faster than before. My eyes felt so much sharper, that I could see a demon closing in from behind me using the tail of my eye. My movement felt so fluid as if these are the exact movements that I've always wanted to do in these situations.

Shooting these demons isn't exactly a problem, either. They died as soon as they touched the holy water, so I have no problem even with a squirt gun.

Not just that, I even challenged myself and got so close to one of them. I placed the squirt gun on its chest after ducking to dodge its attack, and I fired the squirt gun forward. The holy water shot by the gun pierced through the demon in front of me and killed another demon behind it.

Man… doing that felt really good, for some reason.

A smile formed after I killed two demons with one shot, and I turned my eyes to even more demons in front of me.

And so, I continued fighting forward. It genuinely felt like such an easy battle, since all I had to do was to shoot them with holy water. And after killing half of the demons, I began to realize this feeling that I am having.

It's thrill.

I'm having so much fun right now.

After half of its minions disappeared, the smoke demon boss began to take action. It lifted its hands to the side and began casting even more smoke around it. The smoke it spewed out from its hands began to condense into humanoid forms, creating even more smoke demon minions.

Well, that's so much work just to create more toys.

Even when there's hundreds of them, this'll pose no problem for me. But, I still have to keep in mind the amount of holy water that I have inside the squirt gun. I still have about two thirds more to spend on the tank, but that's probably not enough for me to shoot the boss.

From what I remembered, the black slime demon boss couldn't be killed with just one squirt gun shot. It took the sword lady multiple hacks and slashes with the sword to kill it, which means it will take much more for me to kill with holy water.

I have to save ammunition as much as possible, so that I will have enough of it to kill the boss.

Keeping that in mind, I began to have a more saving approach. Killing two demons with one shot. The squirt gun can shoot up to two and a half meters of reach, which means I will have to line up the demons in a straight line with less than two meters from one another. Then, I can fire the squirt gun as close as possible to the first demon.

The issue was, I have to get close to the first demon. These things can claw me and open up a wound very easily, so I must be careful.

Fortunately, my legs are feeling like running a lot today. My eyes felt much faster than usual. My movement is possibly the most fluid that I've ever moved in my entire life.

And the best part of it all… I am having so much fun.

A demon got quite close from behind me, and it managed to enter an attacking range. It threw its arm forward, expecting my blood to spurt out in the open. But, all it did was touch a little bit of my uniform without even damaging it.

The artifact worked! I was hesitant about whether or not it was real. But it truly protected even my clothes.

After letting that demon backstab me, I turned my gun behind me without turning my body and fired. The demon died as soon as holy water pierced through its head, and I turned my eyes towards even more smoke demons.

The smoke demon boss has stopped making more minions, probably because it realized that more minions will not do any better. Instead, it seemed to be preparing to make a move.

In front of it, there are still ten more minions left. I was able to kill so many by killing two with one shot, that I didn't realize there's only so few left.

These minions are nothing. It's just the boss left, huh?

I began running ahead, and the leftover minions also rushed at me. Once I got into reach, I fired forward, not caring about ammunition anymore and just getting rid of the minions.

Right after I killed the last smoke demon minion, the boss began to make its move. It floated upwards, and suddenly began flying very quickly towards me.

Oh, it can fly!?

I rolled to the side to dodge it, and I turned my squirt gun to shoot the boss. But, the boss managed to fly backwards quick enough to dodge the reach of the holy water.

It's almost as if the boss has fully memorized the reach that my squirt gun can do. It flew backwards almost immediately when I pointed the squirt gun at it.

That means… I just have to be quicker.

I started running towards it, closing the distance as much as possible. The smoke demon boss started flying upwards to get away from my squirt gun's reach, and that completely ticks me off.

"Get down here, idiot."

I said to the demon, but the demon let out a weird sequence of sound, as if it was laughing at me. Hearing that completely ticks me off even more, and suddenly I had an idea.

I lowered my body by bending my legs. And with all the strength I have on my body, I jumped upwards as high as I could. I pointed the gun above me towards the smoke demon boss, and suddenly I'm in range.

I fired the holy water to the smoke demon, and it managed to hit it on the body. Accuracy isn't something I have the privilege of having since I was jumping, but at least it was enough to land a hit on the smoke demon boss.

The smoke demon's flight became lowered suddenly, and I knew that this was my only chance. I ran towards it while holding the gun forward, and I started firing upwards when I entered the range.

Multiple shots were fired, and every single shot landed on the smoke demon. The holy water does have an effect, but as expected, it will take a lot of holy water until I can completely kill it off.

Some parts of the smoke demon's body can be seen to be disappearing. Judging from how barely visible his body is now, I quickly assumed that it means the amount of smoke on his body must be decreasing from the amount of holy water that damages it. Which means I just have to keep firing holy water onto it until it completely disappears.

The issue comes after, when the smoke demon boss finally went into attacking mode. It can fly, and it can move very fast, and those two combining alone is more than enough to annoy me.

For the next twenty seconds, all I was doing was dodge. The smoke demon boss's flight movement was so fast and all it took was a single graze on my body to wound me. I'd rather not have my school uniform getting ruined since they cost money, so I focused a lot more on dodging rather than shooting.

Also, I'm looking for a chance. Continuously attacking means that someway or another, the smoke demon boss will naturally open itself to a shoot-able position. All I have to do is wait for that moment, and grasp the chance as quickly as I can.

But, before I was able to find that chance, a person stepped out from the smoke.

"Elizabeth!? What's going on!?"

I turned my gaze towards Nico, who just walked through the smoke by himself. He must've noticed the smoke demons stopped coming, and he made the courageous decision to walk through the smoke that's splitting his side of the building and mine.

Immediately, I had a plan.

The distance between him and me… should be about exactly twenty meters. It's more than enough.

"Nico!! Shoot!"

I lifted my right hand that is holding the squirt gun upwards, completely surprising the smoke demon boss because it was aimed straight at him. But, it was too far away for the squirt gun to reach, so the smoke demon simply floats there without moving since it knows I can't reach it.

But, reaching it myself was never my intention.

"Five meters from my hand!!"

I shouted, and Nico understood the task immediately and perfectly. He aimed up high, specifically five meters away from the tip of my squirt gun and fired that way. I knew that Nico is someone who can't see ghosts including demons, but after that shot, anyone would probably be suspicious of him.

The long range shot from his position has not only reached the demon, but also landed exactly on its head.

And thanks to the perfect headshot, the demon lost control over its flight and fell down. And seeing the demon falling to the ground, my eyes were opened wide.

"P-Perfect!!"

I shouted with a quick laugh, and the smoke demon boss fell to the ground after receiving a holy water snipe in the face. It was able to recover the hole in its head, but I was already pointing my squirt gun in front of its face.
