Confession (part 1)

1.14 - Confession

Before I came to the bathroom, I went to have a talk with Emil and Peach.

I told Emil about my request, and I'm certain that Emil will help me no matter what. The issue was, Emil alone is not enough to help me out.

So, I went to Peach.

"Let's make a deal."

I said to Peach, and she stood up as she walked away.

"I have nothing to say to a freak."

"If you help me just this once, I'll do you a favor as well."

Peach suddenly stopped, and she turned her curious face to me. She turned her whole body at me, showing that I had fully caught her attention.

"Anything?"

She asked, and I grimly nodded.

I don't know what she wanted out of me, but if what Alica is planning was that bad, then this might as well be my last peaceful day at school. I officially made an enemy out of the most beautiful girl in our year, there is no need for me to make a local enemy in my own classroom.

Even if I have to kiss her shoes… I still needed her help.

Peach suddenly grinned at me, and she folded her arms.

"Well… in that case…"

And so, Peach sent out her demand.

Her request was so incredibly horrendous that Emil ended up shouting at her. Even her friends looked like they wanted to disagree, but they had no choice since Peach is like their leader.

And I… also don't have a choice.

"Deal."

After making that deal, I told Emil and Peach about what is going to happen, and what I have in mind. Emil still looked like she wanted to reject Peach's demand, but this is no time to be debating.

To fight in a war, one must be ready to offer a sacrifice.

Fortunately, Peach kept her side of the deal. She, alongside Emil and the others, forced the guys at the bathroom door to open it, allowing me to escape from the bathroom.

And now, I have arrived in front of class A. I was the only person standing in front of the door as everybody else stayed away from me, watching as the scene rolls like in a drama movie.

Holding hands, Nico and Alica turned their gazes towards me who just arrived. And I, who is not only completely wet from top to bottom but also bleeding heavily, could only show a very surprised face when I saw them holding hands.

Am I… too late?

Did Nico… accepted?

I stared blankly at the two of them, and the two stared shockingly at me. Alica was probably very confused as to how I got here, while Nico can only look so horrified after seeing my appearance.

After all, I don't look like someone who was just in her classroom and eating lunch.

Seeing Nico's horrified expression, I turned to him instead. The two of us locked our eyes onto one another for a while. Alica noticed that Nico was staring hard at me, and she turned her focus back at Nico.

"Nick, I--"

"Alica. I have to thank you for thinking of me that highly."

Nico suddenly said coldly to her, which completely shocked Alica. From her expression, it looks like Nico wasn't speaking to her like that before. I mean, even I was surprised to hear Nico speak like that.

He is… genuinely angry.

Nico turned to Alica and wore a cold smile.

"Thank you for telling me your feelings. It means a lot to me."

Nico said, yet it doesn't feel like he was being genuine. Knowing this, Alica cannot look more surprised. Very slowly, Nico began to let go of Alica's hands, which alerted her so much.

"W-Wait, Nick--"

"However… I don't see you in the same way."

Nico said as he pulled his hand away, and he lowered them as he took a step backwards. Alica tried grabbing Nico's hands again, but Nico's hands were already too out of reach.

After pulling his hand away, Nico turned his eyes to me. And finally, the smile on his face turned genuine.

"Because… I already have someone I like."

Nico said so openly, which fully shocked everyone. The people behind me could only stay silent, not daring enough to make even the slightest sound. Nico's gaze is being directed this way, and yet every single person here was frozen. Including me.

But, after hearing his words, my heart felt like it's warmed up so much. It was previously pumped into oblivion by adrenaline, since I had to fight my way to get here. Literally.

But, now… after seeing his smile and hearing his words…

It felt like flowers were blooming wonderfully deep inside me.

I took a step forward, and so did Nico. The two of us approached each other, and we stopped once we were right in front of one another.

Now that we are in front of one another, I got very confused as to what we are going to do. I simply stayed still and stared at Nico, waiting for him to make any move.

Fortunately, he does know what to do. He kneeled in front of me, and he grabbed my right hand towards his face. And with a soft voice, he spoke.

"Elizabeth… will you be my girlfriend?"

He suddenly said while kneeling in front of me, and he was still holding my hand. Everyone who was watching from the window and the door could only let out a very loud and shocked reaction, while the shocked Alica fell to the ground from being so powerless.

For whatever reason… Today's battle has gone towards the best it could've been.

With this act that Nico is doing… it fully showed everyone that I didn't even have to do anything to win. Since, in the first place, Nico had always kept his eyes on me.

I have literally… won.

However… Nico, you stupid bastard…

Do you have to be so damn dramatic?

I lifted my left hand, and very quickly, I slapped his right cheek. Nico looked very surprised thanks to the quick slap, and everyone suddenly turned silent from how shocked they were.

Nico turned his surprised eyes back to my face, and he noticed the grin being worn on my face.

"Was that really what you should be saying, dumbass?"

I was a little pissed, and that confused Nico so much.

"H-Huh!? Was that not the right thing to do now?"

"The right thing to do!? Don't you even see my condition? My head is bleeding. My entire body is soaking, and I'm freezing to death. The first thing you thought of instead of helping me… was confessing? Seriously??"

I asked a little angrily, which made Nico laugh out of awkwardness.

"Ah, I was going to do that after--"

"If I'm going to date a guy who doesn't look after my well being, then I'd rather date a dog.

Rejected!"

"Huh!? W-Wait!!"

I said coldly as I turned around, and Nico quickly stood up to grab ahold of me. I ended up dragging him outside the classroom while he was trying to debate with me, and I kept on blaming him for not caring about my condition while whining about how painful my head feels.

It's not really that painful, to be honest. I just wanted to troll Nico.

The entire time, everyone could only watch awkwardly. They made way for the two of us as we left the classroom, and I was leading Nico towards the staircase so we can go to the infirmary from here. The two of us left the crowd, and everyone could only see us go down the staircase as we left them.

What a turn of events, today has taken…

The two of us went to the school infirmary on the first floor to get me some treatment. The nurse at the infirmary was quite surprised seeing my head bleeding badly, and she quickly gave me help.

Apparently, Nico already knew who the nurse was. After all, she was the one who took care of him when Nico came here to change the bandage on his right arm.

Now, to complete the circle, I also came here to patch my head.

"You stupid couple! First, the boy got wounded, and now the girl! Are you two just brutes or what!?"

Hearing that we were being called a couple, I got rather embarrassed. But, Nico didn't mind it and simply laughed loudly. He chatted with the nurse while she was cleaning the wound on my forehead with some painful liquid. The two talked about Nico's wound progression, how he took off the bandage after only a day since she put them on.

For a wound that big to be healed in just two days… Nico got some talent to quickly heal wounds. Now, let's just hope I have the same ability because apparently this wound is quite bad.

"Wahh… this is so deep! You're lucky nothing bad happened when you had the wound! This could've easily turned so much worse!!

How did this happen, anyway!?"

The nurse finally asked, and I turned my eyes to Nico. He is also very curious about what happened, but I can't just tell the nurse that a fight broke out at the girl's bathroom today.

So, I have to lie.

"I hit my head on the sharp edge of the desk after slipping."

"Ouch… that must've hurt…"

She commented upon hearing that, and she started putting the bandage on. Beforelong, I'm wearing the bandage around my head, circling my hair. I had to untie the hair so that the bandage could roll properly on my head, and I immediately felt the uncomfortableness of the hair touching the back of my neck.

"Then, how did your entire body get this soaked??"

The nurse asked me about it, and I began to think of an answer.

"Did I not mention that the floor is really wet?"

"Oh… so you fell on the ground and… Okay, I get it."

Haha, she believed so easily. I turned to Nico and blinked my right eye at him where the nurse couldn't see, and Nico giggled a little.
