Despair (part 5)

"Mom!? Mom!!! Hey, Mom!"

I tried to call her as I covered the opened hole on her neck, but I know that there is nothing that I can do about the wound.

Wound… right, wound!

"Baldur!!!"

I shouted, and Baldur appeared in my hand again. I previously called its name inside the car to get rid of it, since I know I won't be able to fight anyway.

I quickly placed Baldur's handle on Mom's hand, and I forced her fingers to grip the handle tightly.

I expected Baldur to glow golden again, where it emits a golden light and had the light travel from the handle all the way to the wounded area. I was expecting such a thing to happen, and I wanted it to happen.

However… the reality isn't going exactly the way I wanted it.

"Baldur!! Heal her!!"

I shouted at the sword, but alas, the sword is only a sword. It may have a healing capability, but it can only do so much as an inanimate object.
