The Surprise

When I woke up we were still driving which I was surprised by.

"I thought we would have gotten back by now." I told Madison

"We would have but I decided to surprise you instead." Madison said

"Interesting." I said

She just nodded her head.

"So what's your favorite color?" I asked Madison

"Purple" Madison said

What's your favorite animal?" I asked

"Penguin." Madison said

"What is your favorite hobby?" I asked

"Skateboarding" she said

Now that sounded cool I was going to ask what that was but I was on a mission.

"Favorite drink?"

"Lemonade." she said

"Where would you move to if you could?" I asked

"Canda." she said

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see when we get there." she said with a teasing tone

"I can't believe you didn't fall for that." I said sourly

"Oh boo hoo baby you'll see in a bit. What's the point of a surprise if I just tell you?" she said

"Uhh I hate that you have a point."

It only took fifteen more minutes of torture to finally see. She took me to a store filled to the brim with all kinds of treats. So many cupcakes and candies. We loaded a cart to its fullest and went to check out.

"Two hundred thirty dollars and seventy five cents." the boy said

Madison opened her wallet without hesitation which must have shocked the boy. He had his eyebrows raised up so high he was giving himself lines on his forehead.

"Is that a lot?" I asked Madison while she grabbed the receipt.

"No, not really why?" Madison asked

"I was just wondering because you haven't taught me the value of money yet." I said

"Oh yah I will later." Madison promised

"So are we eating all of this now?" I asked

"Well after you help me unload everything up in the vehicle and we head out to the party." Madison said

"What party?" I asked

"Oh just a summer party we're going to crash." she mumbled

"What, we're going to crash a party?!?" I asked

"Luna, chill out, it's another joke." she said smiling

I can't believe me and Madison have a good relationship. She's just like the friend I always wanted to get one day. Who would have thought my first friend to befriend would be my best friend. Now that's the surprise of a lifetime.

"There's this movie store we can stop at and pick up something to bring home to watch." Madison said

Soon I had been on a sugar high.
