Official Orders
"I wonder what it is you are so excited about? Is there some other reason you might want to go there?" Smiles asked.
"This… I… I want to see my mothers. I haven't seen all of them. I don't think they even know I exist. And when I see them I'm going to give them a big hug." I said.
"Hmm, It would be wrong of us to force you not to see them." Smiles said, Then turned to look at Yang Kai. "So how do you plan on explaining yourself to your wives when you return? You'll be returning with two more wives and a child. Won't they get confused and possibly jealous?" She asked.
"My son is neither Feng Ying nor Bai Yi. The one who is his true mother will definitely sense him. She might not understand the feeling she has. But I doubt that she hasn't sensed his existence in some way. Perhaps a dream or otherwise, it does not matter. What does is that I am there to see Mother and child together at last." Yang Kai said. "If I had the ability to send him back on my own I would have already done so. Unfortunately… My attainments in the Space Principles are not sufficient enough for that." He added, clenching his fists. He was clearly feeling guilty about this matter.
"Good, then with that settled. I, on behalf of the Human Race, order Yang Kai and Dawn Squad to return to the 3000 Worlds. You are to first make a stop at the No-Return Pass to give them the method for refining the Dragon Tokens and perhaps another method that would allow the Phoenix Clan to have a similar token developed. After which is when you will traverse the World Gate and gather and safely escort the new recruits to the battlefield. And I expect to see a new Open Heaven Master made of Leiji." Blue Sky Pass Old Ancestor ordered, throwing a token over to Yang Kai.
"The Old Ancestor has issued an Order! Junior Yang Kai, Receive the Order!" The 8th rank Army Commanders and Garrison Chiefs all sounded off in unison.
"Junior Yang Kai, receives the order! Junior will carry out his duties with perfection." Yang Kai said, catching the order and then immediately cupping his hands and bowing respectfully.
"Good! You have 2 days to prepare. Then you may take your Dawn Squad and return." Old Ancestor said, with a wave of his hand. "I hope this helps you Sister Smiles. But this is the most I am able to do. You'll have to ask the boy to help with the rest." He whispered to Smiles.
~~Dawn Squad's Common Court~~
"So this is where you were staying for this time. It's quite good for a place in the Ink Battlefield." Smiles said, still holding onto me like I was going to bolt out of her reach at any moment.
"Haha, Smiles honors me, but this place was originally Feng Ying's and I just simply moved in later. And all of the work that has been done here was by her and others. I haven't been here long enough to make any significant improvements." Yang Kai said, lightly scratching his cheek. "You mind letting him go now? It might be a bit awkward once we enter the home." He asked.
"It's fine, consider it practice for later. I'm going to keep holding onto this cutie for as long as I can. I haven't seen him in quite a while. But from his perspective it's been even longer." Smiles said, then looked at me. "You don't mind right?" She said with a smile. "If I can really get this situation to happen I won't be, just Smiles to you." She whispered.
"Of course I don't mind. Though, if you're going to cause a problem… you might as well make it go all the way." I said as we arrived, and then walked inside the building. "Isn't that right Mother Smiles!?" I smiled up at her. And I spoke quite loud enough to make sure everyone in the Team heard.
"Leiji! What are you trying to do now?" Yang Kai said, panicked.
"Yang Kai! Explain this right now! Why is… Ah! Old Ancestor Smiles! Uhm… Smiles. Why is our boy calling another woman mother and why is she coddling him!" Bai Yi said, with a mixed bag of emotions. And then clinging onto me as well.
"Yang Kai, just how high is your courage? To even go after someone as well known and respected as Smiles. You were gone for less than half a day!" Feng Ying said, poking Yang Kai's chest, asserting herself.
"I swear it wasn't me this time. I haven't done anything. The two of them are working together for this." Yang Kai said, and then his heart made him shut up.
"Father, even if mother Smiles didn't have feelings for you. You absolutely can not hide such things from me. I know you know those words you said just now made you feel disheartened. You actually harbor feelings of deep familiarity with each other. So what's the harm in acting on them?" I said, in a clearly normal voice.
"But the seniority…" Yang Kai started saying and then realized I must have been thinking about this from day one.
"Don't you already have Sister Yu Ru Meng? Isn't she in the same age bracket! Hmph! Bad excuse." Feng Ying said.
"Leiji, do you really mean what you said? Do you really call Smiles Mother?" Bai Yi asked, calming down and looking me in the eyes.
"I do. And I intend to keep doing so even if my father doesn't accept it. There is an indescribable feeling that makes a mothers hug completely different from anyone or anything else's hug. And Mother Smiles gives me the same feeling. And besides that, it was Mother Smiles that made it possible I was able to meet my Father to begin with. So now that she is in need. I will naturally help her." I said, confidently. "I still love all my Mothers but now I'll have one more. And that way! More baby siblings in the future! Ahahaha." I laughed.
