Relented

The three generations of women went to have dinner at the best restaurant around their area, courtesy of Elena.

All through the journey to that location in a cab, Marie kept rambling on and on about how wasteful it was to eat out when they could eat at home.

At first, Elena was calm but as they approached the restaurant, she held her arm and smiled, "Mum, I wish life didn't happen to us. I miss all of those times you hammered about getting some rest while running the home."

Hearing that, Marie looked her in the eyes and asked, "Do you know what I regret so much?"

"No." Elena shook her head while trying to ignore Mia who was sitting in between them and fussing about with her phone. She hoped she doesn't press the wrong button.
