“Mark, if you help me, I promise I will do anything for you in return. Just as long as cheating is not involved.”

“You will do anything I want?” Mark probed, his eyes glittering as he focused on her. He now seemed more interested in her promise than in whatever it was she wanted from him.

“Yes, I give you my word.”

Mark stared into her eyes and seeing how desperate she was, he leaned back into his seat and tapped his fingers on the table. “Careful what you promise, Darling, I’m not a good boy.” 

“I don’t care,” Elena replied with determination in her eyes. “I’m not a good girl either.”

Elena was quite surprised when she saw Mark's request sitting on her phone. He asked to see Mia's photo. That was a surprise for her.

It wasn't really an abnormal request but it was if you asked her since it was coming from Mark.

He must be interested in the daughter he made with her if he wanted to know what she looked like.

Elena stole a glance at Mia who was sleeping with her head resting on her grandmother's thighs and shook her head. It would be a bad idea trying to take her photo. Her mother would start asking questions. And she didn't have the energy to start talking about Mark and the reason she was taking photos.

She opted to move her gaze to her phone gallery where she stored photos of Mia. She selected two from the recent one she took at the restaurant in their home town and picked one from before she moved to city H, making it three in total.
