A Hunch

"Good morning, Mum," he greeted as his steps came to a slow halt.

"Good morning," Rachel returned the greeting as she stopped in front of him before turning her head to the side. "Go on," she said to the people behind her before shifting her gaze back to Mark as the sound of their retreating footsteps echoed around them.

Mark's gaze briefly fell on the men and women his mother just released before asking, "Are you coming from a meeting?"

"Yes," Rachel nodded before turning back to him. "Let's talk in your office." Despite raising a confused brow, Mark quickly resumed his steps. Whatever his mother wanted to talk about didn't bother him, but he was curious.

On reaching his office, the mother and son settled down. Mark had to leave his seat for his mother and sat across from his desk. She was the boss here. "You wanted to talk to me," he started, resuming from where they had left off with their conversation.
