“Mark, if you help me, I promise I will do anything for you in return. Just as long as cheating is not involved.”

“You will do anything I want?” Mark probed, his eyes glittering as he focused on her. He now seemed more interested in her promise than in whatever it was she wanted from him.

“Yes, I give you my word.”

Mark stared into her eyes and seeing how desperate she was, he leaned back into his seat and tapped his fingers on the table. “Careful what you promise, Darling, I’m not a good boy.” 

“I don’t care,” Elena replied with determination in her eyes. “I’m not a good girl either.”

The car race ended up being fun for Elena who thought she would hold her heart in her hands from all the risk she would see on the field.

Eric came third and was grinning from ear to ear when they finally met him after the race ended.

"Congratulations," Mark said, patting him on the arm.

"Thank you," Eric replied with a big smile on his face. He was still in his racing uniform. He tilted his head to the side to look at Elena who had a small smile on her face.

"What did you think of the race?" he asked, seeking her opinion since she didn't look like she would hide the truth from him.

If he asked Mark that question, the latter would tell him straight up not to play risky games like that next time otherwise he would stop showing his support.

Eric didn't want to risk hearing that so, he left Elena to answer the question.
