“Mark, if you help me, I promise I will do anything for you in return. Just as long as cheating is not involved.”

“You will do anything I want?” Mark probed, his eyes glittering as he focused on her. He now seemed more interested in her promise than in whatever it was she wanted from him.

“Yes, I give you my word.”

Mark stared into her eyes and seeing how desperate she was, he leaned back into his seat and tapped his fingers on the table. “Careful what you promise, Darling, I’m not a good boy.” 

“I don’t care,” Elena replied with determination in her eyes. “I’m not a good girl either.”

Yang Mingze tried to get her to stay back by dropping hints regarding his intended marriage proposal to her but regardless of how he put his words, she remained adamant.

Though he was upset, he asked her to go home and think about it again before giving him a reply, so it was only when he saw her again that he remembered the request he had made.

Before Yang Mingze could finish his next statement, Chloe hit him with her bag. "You scumbag!"

The first hit was acceptable, same as the second and the third as well. But when the pain intensified and the woman did not seem to be stopping anytime soon, Yang Mingze was forced to hold her wrists.

"What happened? What are you furious about?" he inquired as his face twisted in a deep frown. He didn't find her actions funny.
