Chapter 65

Ashley's POV:

"Wait, you didn't notice?" I ask. What did I do? I told him that but he didn't know. Now, Hudson is very mad at me I can see it in his look.

"N-No. I... I have a daughter. I... I'm speechless." He starts crying. He's crying but are these tears of happiness? I'm not sure.

"I-I found out after our weddi-... I mean, the day you left me, that I was pregnant. I decided to keep the baby even though you weren't around." I first stutter but then I get mad of the flashbacks. He looks at me with bloodshot eyes and tears falling down his cheeks. I recognize I was joining him.

"I waited for you to come back but you didn't. You weren't there for me when I needed you the most. And Deniz? She asked all the time where her father is." I cry.

"What did you tell her?" He asks with wide eyes coming towards me. I won't tell him that I told her that her father didn't find out about her and that I told her to believe he would once come and finally meet her. She's patiently waiting for him and now the time has come.

"That's not the point." I say to change the subject.

"I want to see her." He says and wipes away his tears. Before I can say anything he walks into the house.

Hudson's POV:

"Deniz!" I yell and Kerem walks immediately towards me.

"Not now. Give her time to know you." He whispers. Seconds later she walks down the stairs with Meredith holding her hand.

Her blue-green eyes looking curiously at the door. She has my eyes I finally notice. Her curly long hair is from her mother but it's blond. Her hair is blond like mine when I was a kid. She is my daughter. Now I can see it. I get emotional by looking at her and realizing how stupid I was. I missed 5 years of something that would've made me the happiest guy.

"Come here, pretty." I say and give her a hand sign. When she smiles I see on her right cheek a dimple. She even has my dimple. That makes me even more emotional. She walks towards me and my whole family is watching us.

"Deniz, do you want to hear something very exciting?" I say trying to hold back my tears but I fail. She wipes my tear away with her small hand.

"Is it the reason why you are crying?" She asks with an innocent look.

"Mhm. These are tears of happiness. Because I'm staying here and we can spend time together." I say almost cracking up in tears again when I see in her face turning a big smile.

"That's great news! So that means you are part of our family?" Denis says and I can't say a word but nod smiling at her. She hugs me excited right after and I see my mother walking away crying. I can't tell if it's the worst or the best day of my life but what I can tell is that I want to hold my daughter in my arms forever.

Hours later I'm in my old bedroom putting my clothes in the closet. When I look around I remember the first time I met Ashley. We were laying on my bed all the time and didn't notice until she suddenly screamed. If I just could take back those days to have her near me again. I miss her so much. We are at the same point again after 6 years but a lot has changed. Usually, she's near but it feels like she's still miles away.

Someone knocks on the door and all the flashbacks disappear. When I open I'm relieved it's not my parents or Meredith but Kerem. I let him in and close the door right after.

"I know this has been a long day for you and I know I should not question more things... But, ... What happened? Why did you leave without telling?" He asks me and I decide to tell him the whole truth. He anyway knew about Monika so what's bad about telling him the rest. His reaction is like I expected. Shocked but understanding. That's why he was my friend and is loved by anyone.

"Are you and Ashley..."

"No. But... Meredith and I..."

"Oh." We don't finish the sentences out loud but we know exactly what we're saying. To be honest I'm relieved that Meredith didn't give Kerem up because of me. She deserves to be happy.

The door knocks again and we both jump. When I open and see Ashley my heart immediately starts to race. It feels like those days when I got feelings for her. Her dark blue eyes starring at me make me even more nervous.

"Ashley?" I break the silence. When Kerem hears her name he excuses and leaves the room so Ashley can enter. I don't know if I should offer her to sit on my bed or not so I leave it on her. She looks around the room. Probably having the same flashbacks I had earlier. She smiles lightly and looks sad again. Now she stares at me like she wants to say something.

"Thank you... For not telling Deniz about that." She stutters and smiles politely.

"For now. But as soon as she gets to know me better I want to tell her." I frown. Ashley glares at me but she knows I'm right.

"Tell me what?" A very high voice says. When I turn around and see Deniz at the door my mind gets lost.
