Half a month later.
The moon shone brightly and stars were sparse; even at night, the towering entrance to Di'an City brimmed with bustling traffic. Merchants and travelers in an endless stream came and went along the spacious imperial roads.
In this night of prosperity, a luxurious carriage, with the insignia of the Honglu Temple engraved on its body, rolled out of the city gates amid the bustle. It caught the attention of the passing merchants, and amidst their discussions, continued along the imperial road at a steady pace.
As the sole political center of the Dayan Empire, the fields and mountains surrounding Di'an City were dotted with luxurious estates built by high-ranking officials and wealthy merchants.
Some estates were perched atop high mountains while others were hidden in the recesses of valleys.
