He had been reborn.

America 1982

Tommy had raced back to the long-missed Eagle's Nest in Los Angeles from New York. By the time he arrived, the party had been going on for over an hour, and Odelia had already left for Washington.


Outside the brightly lit Eagle's Nest, Sophia O'Connor sat alone on a bench by the hall door, gazing into the night. When she saw Tommy getting out of the car from afar, she stood up, looking intently at him, her eyes filled with inquiry.


Tommy shook his head gently at her, "I rushed back from Long Island, hoping to spend the last days of my life at home, basking in the sun, spending time with my family. His family told me that if he chose to stay at home, he probably had about five more months of... long days left."


Upon hearing Tommy's words, Sophia covered her mouth with her hand and then took off her glasses, turning her head slightly away.


Chapter 2: Sophia Sets Out
