Shawn POV

For the afternoon lesson, we mostly focused on human weaknesses and what we can do to fight back against those who wish to harm us with or without magic.

It was a useful class, there are a lot more spells than I thought and our usual way of doing things will sometime even kill them, which is not something we prefer but we can kill if it's a last resort.

Our lessons were considerably more smooth when it comes to fighting against regular humans, that's because the whole class has had taken a class or 2 of self-defense and/or martial arts in the past.

Ezra was adamant about us needing to learn them too, and so I took some after he passed, I thought that they'd be useful against angels, so I thought I was getting a faster head start, but it seemed that everyone mastered them more than I have.

Fighting angels usually give you different tactics as they usually just fly and float in the sky whilst humans...well, it's possible to fly now, but angels can do that in their sleep.

And I mean that both literally and figuratively of course.

Anyway, class went as usual but I saw something flash by the window, which was strange, we're on the 2nd floor for this room, so is someone flying on campus?

That flash was someone moving, that's for sure. I then see that flash again, but it was that of blue-colored light...I currently only personally know 2 people who would use slightly extra mana just to color their magic.

Don't let it be my brother.

And...it is...he's surfing on this rectangular surfboard made of magic and flying around while this professor was running around and shooting talismans that turn into beams of light.

"Curses, I can't believe that he's courageous enough to do it on school grounds." Mr. Arthur said aloud and was looking a bit visibly upset.

I just want to dig myself into a hole.

"Shouldn't you try to calm him down?" Alaine asked while pointing at the principal.

"I don't even know how he managed to anger a teacher enough to get them to chase him throughout campus."

"You 2 really are different, one's disciplined, and the other...well..."

"Well, I'm adopted, so there's the difference."

"I don't think you need to say that for us to know, it's obvious, you look nothing alike."

"What are you on about? We're like almost identical."

"Is he actually blind and that's your lie to make him feel better?"

"You don't see the similarities? Wow, you seriously need to get your eyes checked."

"Are you perhaps delusional?"

"And are you perhaps really ugly and dumb?"

"How could you say that to me?! I thought we were friends."

"Our answer to each other's question is the same, well, anyway, I can't defend Perseus, he's his own-"

"Don't worry, it's not Perseus that I'm going scold and lecture." Mr. Arthur said as he then opened the window and jumped down.

Sterling then came to the window where he was just smiling at what was going on, Perseus is just dodging every spell that was being shot at him and even using it to block some of the spells before just flying away again.

And it seems that security wasn't trying to stop my brother but that professor from doing anything.

"That's Conrad Everett." Sterling said and the realization sunk in fast.

Everyone is class knew, heck, everyone in the school knew of my brother's significant other, and that means that the man who's chasing him...is her father. Well, fair enough, I'm sure he didn't believe her either when she told him that she has gotten herself a boyfriend who goes to another school.

My brother was pretty open about it, we just didn't believe him, though he was secretive about who it was, a factor that caused our disbelief.

"Damn it, just when I thought that they finally exposed his lies and illusion." Ollie cursed

"Dude, you seriously need to chill."

"Chill?" he then gave me this condescending look "You don't even belong in our class, you'll be replaced anyway, you should have been placed in the lower classes to give more time for proper development to someone else more worthy.

"As for your brother, he should have been arrested, and you and your stupid family along with him for knowingly allowing him to do all this as accomplices." he then turned to the guild members "You guys are also knowingly a part of this, you seem to know them even before they come to school, so you're also criminals for allowing this instead of reporting this to peacekeeping front."

"I only knew of this just now man, he's more proficient than I thought even based on the reports of him." Lane commented "Besides, it's not like he's developing the disease, it would have been picked up during the mandatory health check-ups because we're advanced enough to even detect a singular cell of the disease and delay it. Just think of it as a miracle."

"Anyone can be that good if they practice with the same amount of time." Ollie scoffed "This is why your guild isn't that well known, heck, you're not even within the radar of my family's eyes, and I'll make sure to keep it that way, you lot are sorry and weak, I've been trained by better."

That's just unnecessary, the rest of our classmates have definitely been trained by better and more reputable sorcerers, but even they learn to appreciate everything given and taught to them today.

Ollie didn't talk much today, but he did seem annoyed listening to their stories, probably tired of hearing of mistakes and how to overcome them, he does seem to be the type to want to only hear the killing part of things.

In that tense atmosphere, I looked at Sterling who just smirked in response, and out the window where just stared at the blue sky, I want to wish and pray that my brother was okay, but I have doubt that God would help.
