Teacher's Regret (4)

Perseus POV

"We're inside." Minerva said as we walked into the base "We can talk now."

I didn't think that I would see that group of people here, I just feel really uncomfortable around them, I can still remember their laughs and sneers, it's quite...frightening to say the least, I've gotten past it, but I'm more scared of how I might react or say to them, due to that expulsion, I can't go to the same schools as Shawn.

There are schools that accepted us both, but those schools don't really have great programs, so for him to be able to attend greater schools, I just agreed to be homeschooled, he won't choose the good schools otherwise.

On my way inside, I turned to see Shawn approaching my previous teacher, I then didn't care to read their lips to see what they talked about, Minerva followed me inside and then pulled me into her assigned room.

"This is the woman's room."

"And?" she responded with a questioning look

"Did you not see the looks of everyone? And the camera that saw you pull me into your room?"

She then took out this small device which I remember her telling me that the detector was given by her dad to sniff out cameras and other audio recorders.

"Alright, we're good." she just said before turning it off

"Ok, does this mean I can leave, cuz your room got 2 bunkbeds, so 4 people and I don't want the others to think we're doing something suspicious here once they peek through the door after they unlock it."

She just ignored me and sat me down on one of the lower beds and hug me.

"You know, I have no problem with you straddling me, but this looks really...well a bit sus."

"Just shut up for a bit." she responded "I'm comforting you, I know what you went through."

"I regret opening up to you sometimes, I feel like you know too much."

I told her the first time we met on campus, it was right after the recruitment for members of the student council, that time we were in the library after she knew that I had an older brother, I haven't told her about my mother yet, but...she's very sympathetic and kind about, didn't really ask too many questions.

She's in a way...too good for me.

"Are you fine after seeing them?" she asked

"Yeah, I'm just scared of how I would have reacted."

"You're strong, my father may think of you as a coward, and if he finds out, he may think that you're a criminal, but to me...You're my hero, plain and simple. I've seen how you protect me and others, and it takes serious courage. I know you're not in it for yourself, but to make things right."

"You do realize that there's a lot of reasons why vigilantism is looked down upon, right? it gets in the way of proper investigations."

"My Dad's a wizard, not a police officer, he only works with them during his apprenticeship program, he's like you."

"Are you sure that you're not dating me because I resemble your dad in his younger days?"

"I've never thought about that." she pondered aloud "Nah, that'll only turn me off, I like you the way you are."

"You're pretty weird, you know that?"

"Yeah." she giggled "Alright, since you're looking better, just continue hugging me a bit longer, when I'm satisfied, you can go back out."

After a while, I heard a creak and turn to see the door open with some people who peeked through and quickly shut it back again.

"Ah sorry, take your time!" a female voice apologized and I can hear the voices of a few others as well out there as the door shut.

"Oh, that's Julie, a third-year who has taken up the same post." Minerva said

"Let's stop now, I don't want to delay your friends, I'll see you in the dining hall."

Shawn POV

I got to our assigned room and since our mentor is coming with us, our room is for us 3, we got the bunk beds while he get the big one, and our room also has its own private shower, which was pretty good, I do not prefer the shared one. But I don't want to get too comfortable, I know that our 2nd year and 3rd year will be harder and harsher, so I'll expect uncomfortably soon.

Perseus came back, and I've decided to not really question anything, his lips are a bit redder than usual though, so that's weird, did have some spicy snack on his way here or something?

After putting down our things, we 2 went to the field where every participant gathered if they want to see the captured angels earlier, And sure enough there they were in large individual cages.

There's even one with an angel captain, their armor is the same as a regular angel, but the color of the clothing underneath is somewhat more of a bright blue than black.

Captain Ida did say that the program might have a captured angel captain, but to think that they managed to get one, that's a hard task to do, harder than killing, trying to subdue an angel with as less harm as possible to them is a very high paying job.

They're currently just sitting and facing down with their helmet still on, underneath the helmet, they should have humanoid features, but the helmet on helps people to not hesitate.

The lesser the harm done, the better we can have more accurate practices. And looking at these angels, yeah, barely any harm is done to them. We are then allowed opportunities to get in to the cage and inspect them closer.

I lined up for the angel captain, and once it was my turn, the angel looked up at me.

"You...I see..." he muttered

"Um, the angel is talking to me." I told the officer nearby

"It's normal." he replied "Remember, do not take it seriously, they may try to mess with you."

"Head to any forest that is rumored to contain magical beings, you'll understand." the angel captain said before never talking to me again
