"That was embarrassing," I say as I stand and help Emily brush the sand from her back.
"So, you're embarrassed to kiss me?" she says, a playful twinkle in her eye.
"No." I laugh. "I'm embarrassed we got caught like that."
"Don't be." She adjusts her ponytail. "Jason shouldn't have been spying on us."
I frown. "He wasn't spying. We're on the beach, out in the open for everyone to see us."
She glares at me. "Why are you suddenly defending Jason?"
"I'm not," I say quickly. "I'm just not big on PDA. I've always believed that intimacy should be private." He shrugs. "And for the record, kissing like that it's not something I do a lot. Or ever, really."
She smirks. "C'mon. We better get over to the group before Jason scolds us again."
