Good Times

Sometimes, people are really weird.

Before winning the award, Director Zhang only wanted to win it and was very passionate about it. After receiving this award, his desire to continue fighting in this area faded away.

The Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film is the highest achievement a Chinese-speaking director can achieve.

If Director Zhang is willing, he can cooperate with some American companies and try to shoot some movies to compete for other awards. However, his foreign language is not very good, and his status in the country is not very good.

He is quite renowned, and he doesn't have much thought about leaving the country and working hard abroad. Therefore, for him, going abroad is impossible. He can just stay home to guard his honor and enjoy the title of the number one director in the country.

After gaining fame, Director Zhang had more things to think about when filming the movie. He seems to have taken a dim view of commercial blockbusters all of a sudden. Anyway, his achievement was enough, and what he wanted to think about more was actually returning to art.

He has won the top box office spot in the domestic market and won international awards. Now, he feels that these things are meaningless. Instead, he wants to go back and continue to try to create art.

Even if a literary film does not make money, whether it can be distributed abroad is a question of whether it is of sufficient quality. He came to the United States just to make connections so that even if he makes literary films in the future, he can continue to distribute them.

After hearing this idea, Levi immediately expressed his willingness to support: This is, of course, a good thing for him. It is better to pursue art than to lose oneself.

As for the box office market, there's nothing to worry about: this year's movies expanded China's film market to 60 million, which is already rare. In the future, this number will only get higher and higher.

And with Director Zhang as a role model, people behind him will naturally think about how to make new movies to win awards. They can always shoot some good things, although detours are inevitable, but there should be some good movies.

Regarding Director Zhang's request, Levi agreed immediately. For him, it was effortless anyway. It is easier to release a literary film than a commercial film. Just find a distribution company and arrange dozens of screens; isn't that a simple matter?

Director Zhang also said he had found a few actors Levi had mentioned he wanted him to help find. They were given some simple English training. As for their further development, it all depends on Levi's use.

Levi glanced at the list briefly and was quite familiar with some of the names. There are some young actors, such as Zhang Hanyu and Liu Ye, as well as some actresses, such as Gao Yuanyuan.

However, although Levi recognized these names, he also knew that there were indeed no actors who were highly praised.

However, it remains to be seen whether their English proficiency can pass the test and whether they can survive here smoothly.

There is no need to worry about these things anyway. The next part of the novel, The Three-Body Problem, has not yet been written, and the script will take a while.

The filming of the blockbuster is time-consuming and laborious. So, there are still at least two years available. There's plenty of time for them to get some training.

Now, Levi would be satisfied if he could find people for the new T.V. series he prepared, which is ready to start filming.

Levi has found Jensen Ackles as the lead actor in the series. There is no problem with Leslie Cheung. Here, he only needs to select another actor, and he can start.

The male protagonist should be a handsome guy and then select a beautiful woman as the heroine. At the same time, he needs to find a few supporting roles, and then he can start filming the T.V. series.

For Enigma Company, which now has a strong team of screenwriters, it is not very difficult to produce such a youth-focused T.V. series.

It's just that Levi himself estimated that the ratings of this T.V. series would not be very high. In fact, it might be better to wait until C.W. T.V. station is established to show this T.V. series in a slot where the ratings of C.W. T.V. station are generally low.

But time is running out, so Levi's solution is to contact WB TV station first and put the T.V. series there. Maybe it can be moved to C.W. T.V. station to continue to survive in the future.

Those things are all things for the future. Levi's movie needs to be filmed in the future, so as long as this T.V. series can survive, that's fine.

These things can be said to have occupied most of Levi's experience this summer. At the same time, the release of the Three-Body Problem movie was entirely left to the company.

And the box office of this movie is almost crazy at this time. Although Levi didn't take too much care of it, it was still growing crazily.

By July, when The Three-Body Problem was launched on a large scale in North America, it had grossed over 300 million at the box office. Globally, its box office figures exceeded 480 million. It was said that the final box office of this movie should be close to 800 million U.S. dollars.

This is also a big difference between commercial films and literary films. Most literary and artistic films have box office success in their own country, but without the environment of their own country, it will be difficult to sell box office in foreign countries.

This box office also puts his total box office into the top 20 in film history. In addition to two Lord of the Rings films, two Harry Potter films, and one Spider-Man film, there are also a number of classic works from the 1990s, such as Titanic, Jurassic Park, Independence Day, The Lion King, Star Wars Episode 1, etc.

Before the 1990s, the only ones comparable to this movie were works such as Star Wars and Alien. Almost every one of them was a miracle of that time. The appearance of each of them caused a sensation.

Now, there is almost one movie like this every year, or even several movies a year, which is also extremely amazing to people.

Such box office figures are very satisfying.

"I really can't believe that our movie can get a box office of 800 million U.S. dollars."

Even the entire Enigma Company said they couldn't believe it when talking about this number.

Investing 100 million to shoot a commercial film is also a big challenge for Enigma Company. The cost of shooting this film also made many people feel distressed.

But now look at what he got. People always feel that these efforts are worth it.

"If we shoot one movie like this a year, we will make a lot of money..." Looking at the box office, Alexander couldn't help but feel a little passionate. But such thoughts can only be thought about.

After all, The Matrix 2 did not receive many favorable reviews from the media, which not only affected the box office revenue of this film, but even many fans said they would not watch the third part.

This also reminded Alexander that such a movie is not that easy to make. If it doesn't work well, it is very likely to cost a lot of money.

This comparison of income and loss also made Alexander a little confused about what to do.

"Actually, this is also the reason why film technology has developed in the past two years. There is nothing to be proud of. With this technology, we cannot even make it to the top ten in box office history."

Compared to others, Levi is more open-minded regarding this matter. Levi doesn't feel proud of where he ranks in the so-called box office history - after all, there is an issue of inflation, and there is also the issue of movies becoming more and more expensive.

Now, it ranks in the top ten in this box office history. Maybe ten years from now, it won't even be in the top ten. He knew this, so how could he be so excited?

This kind of box office is not something to be proud of. If a commercial film really wants to impress people, it still needs to have a higher box office.

Levi's words were quickly verified.

People's enthusiasm for The Three-Body Problem and The Matrix 2 had calmed down by July. Because in July, the popularity of two new movies exceeded these two movies.

Although Pirates of the Caribbean is not as powerful as these two movies, this movie immediately caused a craze as soon as it was released. Disney's first PG-13 movie since its establishment - this gimmick is enough to make many people curious.

What's more, the shooting level of this movie is indeed amazing. It is another great success for a movie without any novel prototype.

The success shocked Hollywood again.

And at the end of July, another movie was released, which was even more powerful, surpassing all the previous movies in one fell swoop.

The movie Finding Nemo may not have had as many big-name actors as some other films, but the magical world crafted by this animated feature propelled it past the box office success of previous children's movies. Even though it was aimed at a younger audience, the film's stunning visuals and captivating storyline made it a hit with audiences of all ages.

"This year, more than four movies have entered the top 20 at the box office, and if expectations are correct, there will be two more movies at the end of the year - Lord of the Rings 3 and Harry Potter 3.

It can be said that two positions have been reserved in advance, meaning there are as many as six movies with a box office of more than 700 million U.S. dollars this year - such a year was unimaginable in the past."

Within this year, six films can challenge the top 20 in the film and television box office — such numbers also indicate the fact that a good time has come for Hollywood.
