Thousand Split Sword Sect

Venix's eyes went red and he began gritting his teeth the moment Minos brought up the Thousand Split Sword Sect. Minos could guess that that force likely had something to do with the Elfon family extermination, but naturally he wouldn't say anything.

"Those bastards of the Thousand Split Sword Sects are all villains! They act righteous in front of the crowd, but the moment no ones looking, they commit the most vile acts. Just look at those fools applauding them, not even knowing they're only letting them go first to act as rats, just testing the road." Venix said with rage, trying hard to control his anger.

"I can understand your anger, but now isn't the time to let out your rage. As long as we can get the inheritance, then your revenge will be an easy matter." Minos said in an attempt to calm him down.

"How the hell are we meant to get the inheritance? As much as I hate the Thousand Split Sword Sect, there's no denying their strength." Venix said, having calmed down slightly.

Minos smiled slightly, patting Venix's shoulder, before speaking smoothly. "You're right, there's no denying their strength, but haven't you noticed something a little suspicious?"

"What do you mean?"

"The inheritance key. You must have been like me at the start, thinking it was a unique object, but now it's more than clear that it isn't nearly as rare as we initially expected."

Minos looked Venix in his eyes, continuing. "Don't you think it's a bit odd that the creator of this inheritance would create such a widely spread object as the key, it's almost as if he wanted to gather as many people as possible."

"I can understand that, but how does any of that matter?" Venix was a bit confused at this point. All the points Minos said made sense, but even then they still didn't seem to give an answer to their current dilemma.

"Just think for a moment, Venix. Since the ancestor who left this inheritance site used such a method to spread the entry guides, shouldn't he have guessed that eventually the Thousand Split Sword Sect would just come and claim it for themselves?"

"If he wanted the Thousand Split Sword Sect to have the inheritance, he would have just given it to them, but he didn't do that. Instead I think that's exactly why he used such a method"

"With his keys spread all over the place, even as strong as the Thousand Split Sword Sect was, they would no longer be able to claim this place for themselves." Minos finished.

"That makes sense, but there's still one problem. Even with all that, the Thousand Split Sword Sect would be able to easily beat the competitors, rendering that ancestor's plan useless."

"Why are you so obsessed with strength? Whoever said that this inheritance was a test of strength?" Minos smiled as he said.

Venix was naturally not a fool, hence he instantly realized what Minos meant. "You're saying that the test isn't one of strength, so even with the Thousand Split Sword Sects ability, it was still pointless. Only the person who could pass the test could get the inheritance. That also explains why he spread the keys so far and wide, he wanted to find the most capable one, so he found as many inheritors as possible."

"Bingo. Of course I might be completely wrong, and we might end up getting slaughtered the moment we enter the inheritance site, but what is life without risk." Minos couldn't help but laugh as he finished.

"You're one crazy bastard." Venix said, but even then, he couldn't help but grin.

"You're right, I am crazy. So how about being crazy with me for a chance?" Minos said with a smile.

Venix looked at his outstretched hand, seemingly hesitating for a moment, but eventually his gaze became firm, and he shook Minos's hand with his entire body's strength.

"I guess this makes us partners." Venix said with a smile.

"No, it makes us friends." Minos responded.

The two couldn't help but laugh as they walked into the inheritance site. Both of them fading away shoulder to shoulder as they entered the strange rocky wall.
