While Zatiana didn't want to share Minos's company, she couldn't help but smile at his generosity, feeling that this was the reason he was so special.
"I guess you're right." She said, no longer feeling annoyed.
The kids quickly came back with Rubella in hand. While she was still slightly ashamed, she felt much better.
"Alright, let's go." Minos said seeing everyone gathered.
…
The group walked around the city for a while before finding a large restaurant that was capable of accommodating all of them.
Minos took the lead in entering the restaurant, the small army of dirty children following behind him. Before Minos could find a table to sit at, a waiter rushed towards him, looking towards the crowd of children with disgust in his eyes.
"Sir, I'm afraid we won't be able to accommodate so many people." The waiter said politely, but his eyes exposed his true feelings.
The children were still young, most of them not understanding, however the older ones realized that the waiter was looking down on them. The oldest girl in the group couldn't help but tug at Minos's robe.
"How about we just buy some meat buns?" She suggested.
"You guys eat meat buns everyday, I think it's time for something different." Minos said with a smile as he patted the young girl's head.
"Are you sure you can't make room?" Minos said, turning back to the waiter.
"I'm afraid not sir." The waiter said, standing firm.
"That's a shame, I guess I'll have to spend my money some other place." Minos said, as he took a Nux Stone out from his pocket.
"Uhh, wait a moment sir!" The waiter said with a gulp towards the leaving Minos.
This was just a mortal restaurant, so a Nux Stone was a massive amount, besides, anyone who can even deal in Nux Stone's is definitely not a nobody.
Having served thousands of people over his years of work, the waiter naturally had a good eye for things.
A single Nux Stone caused him to come up with many different theories as to what Minos's origin was, but regardless of the result, it wasn't someone he could mess with.
"Excuse my rudeness sir, there actually is an open table in the back. Follow me please." The waiter said with a wide smile, the disgust in his eyes replaced by reverence.
"Would you look at that? seems like we're pretty lucky." Minos said with a smile as he led the group behind the waiter.
The group soon came to a large table with more than enough seats for all of them. They all got seated comfortably as the waiter handed them the menu.
"Order whatever you'd like, don't be shy. The one thing I have no lack of is money." Minos said with a laugh, causing the children to cheer for him.
With Minos's word, the group quickly got to ordering, the children picking all sorts of interesting dishes that they had never tried before.
"Ooo, I want the spicy chicken wings!" Rubella said, as drool dripped from her mouth.
"I'm going to get the Three-Stack Burger King! That sounds awesome!" Beetus said with joy.
"I want the deluxe meat bun!" One little boy said with excitement.
"Idiot! We come to a fancy restaurant and you decide to order a meat bun?" An older girl said beside him, smacking him on the head.
"Hey, it's a DELUXE meat bun! They aren't the same thing!" The boy corrected her.
Zatiana couldn't help but laugh as she saw the children's mischief. Her family was small, so she had never experienced such fun.
She couldn't help but imagine how much more interesting her life would be if she had such a big family around her. As she thought of that, she turned towards Minos, blushing as strange thoughts came to her head.
Minos was unaware of the wild thoughts running in Zatiana's head, instead focusing on the menu, deciding what he wanted.
Soon the whole group had their orders ready, so Minos called out to the waiter. Seeing the dense group, the waiter couldn't help but pray for the chefs.
"I'll have the spicy chicken wings, three-stack burger king, deluxe meat bun…" Minos began rocketing off the dense order, causing sweat to bead on the waiter's forehead as he wrote down the complex list.
By the time he was done writing, his wrist was sore, on the verge of snapping in two. He let out a long exhale, thanking the heavens he had survived the ordeal.
With the waiter gone, the children quickly got back to joking and messing around. Minos and Zatiana laughed as the group messed about.
After waiting a while, the waiter came back with a bunch of trays in his hands. He began to hand out meals, much to the children's delight.
One boy received his deluxe meat bun, his eyes shining as he looked at the massive meat bun the size of his head.
After a few more trips, the entire table had their meals, and they all dug in without a moment's delay. The kids were like wild animals, devouring their food with no etiquette.
The other patrons couldn't help but look at the group with disgust, but they were completely ignored.
With the way the children ate, the food was gone in no time. They couldn't help but sit back, rubbing their bloated stomachs.
Minos smiled, happy to see the kids so satisfied. He finished his food patiently, not rushing at all.
By the time Minos was done, the entire table had long been wiped clean. Seeing everyone full and ready to go, he called for the bill.
As he finished paying, he led the group back out from the restaurant. Soon the group arrived back at the alley.
"Where do you children live?" Minos suddenly asked before leaving.
"Well, we usually sleep here. The weather is usually good, so there's no problem sleeping under the stars." The oldest girl said.
"Beetus, go buy a large enough house and let them live there. This is no place to survive." Minos said, handing a few Nux Stone's to Beetus.
"Yes boss!"
"Make sure to buy them beds and blankets, I don't want them sleeping on the floor. Also buy them some new clothes, and pajamas. If you don't have enough, just go to the Weapon Refining Union, you'll find me there." Minos spoke.
"Yes!" Beetus replied with confidence.
"If you guys want anything, just ask Beetus. As long as it isn't anything crazy, he'll get it for you." Minos said to the children.
The children didn't even say anything at first, they were still shocked by all the things Minos planned to give them.
"Well I've got to leave now, I still have work to do. Let's go Zatiana." Minos said as he left with Zatiana.
It was only after he disappeared did the children realize that they wouldn't have to sleep in the streets anymore, and would soon have their own home.
"Someone pinch me, I want to make sure I'm not dreaming." One child said.
"Oww, I was just kidding, who actually pinched me?" The same child shouted out in anger after someone actually pinched him.
"Are we really going to have beds of our own? No more sleeping on bricks?"
"Has Mr. Minos ever lied to us? We are going to have a house for ourselves soon!"
"That's right, our own home!"
"Rubella, are you sure your master isn't just joking with us?" One child couldn't help but ask, still feeling apprehensive.
"My master may be mean, but he's no monster, and he never lies! Don't worry, soon we'll all live under the same roof, but remember, I'm still in charge!" Rubella said, reaffirming the group's feeling.
"Woohoo! We also get new clothes! I want something pink!" A little girl said.
"I'll take blue."
…
As the group of children were still reeling over the excitement of Minos's promises, Minos and Zatiana were slowly heading towards the Weapon Refining Union.
"Minos, can you really afford taking care of all those kids? Beside's, a house isn't cheap at all…" Zatiana said, worried about Minos's finances.
"No worries, I refine talisman in my spare time, which earns me more than enough to support those kids." Minos answered.
"Talismans? You're also a talisman master!" Zatiana couldn't help but ask with wonder.
"I wouldn't say a master, but yes, I can make talisman's."
"Amazing! Where does your talent end?" Zatiana said, admiring Minos even more.
"It has no end." Minos joked.
"No end…" Zatiana said in wonder, seemingly not realizing that Minos wasn't being serious and was just jesting.
While Zatiana was still thinking over Minos's words, the two arrived at the union. Minos didn't plan on going right back to work, but wanted to expand his weapon refining knowledge first.
