"Thank you." Minos and Rubella said in unison before giving a final goodbye and leaving the mansion.
"Man, that was fun! Let's do another one." Rubella said.
"You go, I've still got a lot of work to do, but I hope you've learned. Remember, if work doesn't come to you, then you go to it."
"I know, thank you for your lesson Master!" Rubella said.
"And one more thing, don't forget you have a team behind you, anything you learn, you should share with them. Next time I come back, I want the House of Wisdom's name to be known throughout the city!"
"Of course Master!" Rubella said confidently.
Smiling, Minos gave Rubella a final goodbye before heading back to his house, finding that Beetus had finally recovered.
"Feeling better?"
"Much better Boss, I think I can get back to work right away!"
"Don't get too excited, give yourself a few days to recover first and then you can consider work. Anyways, I have to head back now, you guys take care, and here's another signal talisman, make sure to alert me if anything important happens."
After explaining a few more things to Beetus, Minos untethered his horse and headed back to the Salt Breathing Tribe, excited to finally build the Sun Absorber after waiting all these months.
…
The journey back was a quick and uneventful one, and without even alerting anyone, Minos discreetly made his way back to his cave.
Getting one of his puppets to take his horse to the stable boy, Minos opened up the spatial ring, dumping out its contents, rapidly filling the cave floor with all sorts of crystals and ores.
Scanning over everything with his Omniscient Eyes, a huge database of information was downloaded into his mind, teaching him all the intricacies of each and everyone of these materials.
Heading outside of the cave, Minos found a secluded piece of the beach where the sun seemed to assault the shore unceasingly.
The area was quite dangerous because the waves here tended to be a lot stronger, not to mention the jagged rocks that filled the area.
The villagers avoided this area for those reasons, but it actually made it the perfect spot for Minos to set up his Sun Absorber.
Heading back to his cave, Minos connected his Nux strings to his puppets as he began controlling them to pick up the supplies and transport them where he needed them.
After everything was set up, Minos went through the building process of the Sun Absorber a few more times before he began.
Looking up at the screens that showcased each puppet's perspective, Minos's fingers began flying like a phoenix through the heavens.
Quickly, the puppets got to work, each one as nimble as a skilled tradesman, their hands having been refined time and time again by Minos, allowing them to be even more flexible than a human.
Some puppets were in charge of smelting and preparing the ores, others were in charge of creating the wires and batteries, and some were in charge of putting everything together.
Each puppet had its own job, and with Minos's split souls, he was capable of maneuvering each puppet like it was its own individual, not being overwhelmed at all by the many different tasks.
The sound of hammering and the smell of tinder traveled out of the cave, even more so than on usual days.
Some couldn't help but pause as they looked at the puppets fast at work, realizing that Minos seemed to be making something even more grand than he usually did.
The hours passed by in a flash as Minos sat in front of his screens fast at work, his eyes appearing light-blue, like a tranquil pool of water, unperturbed by the world around it.
His eyes shined like a crystal, causing anyone who looked directly into them to be captivated, as if they had been captured by the waves and submerged beneath the sea, only to find out that an entire world existed below the water.
This was his Omniscient Eyes activated at full force, which made his already demonic intelligence reach an unfathomable level.
As the sun reached the middle of the sky, Minos's crystal-blue eyes finally dimmed, slowly turning back into their abyss like black color as Minos deactivated his Omniscient Eyes.
Letting out a sigh, Minos stood up and stretched, relieving his stiff body. Walking out of the cave, Minos headed to the beach side, looking at the Sun Absorber that had finally been completed.
On the rocky beach sat a large crystal screen, about five by five meters, as big Minos could make with what he had.
At first glance, the screen looked like nothing special, at most like a panel of glass, but only Minos knew how incredibly intricate the technology within this device was.
Beneath the screen, a long wire stretched out, reaching all the way into the cave and connecting directly into the DNA Extraction Pod and Compo.
Following the wire back into the cave, Minos took a seat in front of the Compo, activating it in slight anticipation.
He had no doubts that he had done everything correctly, but until he actually saw everything working, his heart couldn't rest peacefully.
After watching the black screen patiently for five minutes, Minos started to have doubts, thinking he may have done something wrong.
But just as he got up to check if everything was okay, the screen activated, flashing brightly as the black was swapped with the familiar Lukalu letters.
Sitting back down excitedly, Minos watched as the Compo booted up, the fans whirling strongly within the casing.
After another half hour of waiting, the Compo finally finished booting up, the screen returning to what it had been like before Minos had taken it from the temple.
The massive database of Lilia's genetic information was still set up on the Compo, but Minos wasn't interested in that.
Saving the information just in case he needed it, Minos opened the DNA Extraction Pod, setting up a sample of Tinka's blood as he activated it.
With the Sun Absorber powering it, the DNA Extraction Pod was once again activated after all these months.
A syringe lowered from the top of the pod before submerging into Tinka's blood sample, slowly absorbing it before sending the information to the Compo.
The Compo screen went black for a moment before a loading screen appeared, slowly scanning and decompiling this new DNA sample.
The process was quite long, even longer than when he had first analyzed Lilia's blood sample, but after waiting a while, the loading was finally complete.
Once again, a massive database of genetic information appeared on the screen, filling up hundreds of pages.
To other people, this screen would just be a random jumble of letters that meant nothing, and this was even once the case for Minos as well.
But after all these months of studying, Minos's knowledge was already comparable to a Lukalu expert who had spent his whole life studying genetics.
The letters that once meant nothing now come together perfectly, revealing an entire new language, the language of life!
Reading through the pages, Minos was enamored, studying each 'sentence' as he compared it to what he had learned from all his studies, quickly putting two and two together as his learned knowledge turned into practical knowledge.
Quickly scanning through the massive amount of information with his Omniscient Eyes, Minos finally came across something peculiar.
Opening up a new tab, Minos quickly opened up Lilia's genetic information as he compared the two, the difference becoming more and more clear.
While Lilia's genetic information was seemingly untouched, Tinka's had a clear abnormality, a certain genetic link embedded deep within her body.
It was clear to an experienced eye that this genetic information was not natural, instead appearing like it had been forcefully inserted.
This genetic link didn't appear only once, in fact, it appeared all over Tinka's genetic code, disrupting the normal operation of her body.
While Minos wasn't 100% sure that this was the cause of her curse, there were no other likely candidates, making it the most obvious suspect.
Curious, Minos isolated the genetic link before tapping away at the Compo and pressing enter.
The Compo began whirling, the DNA Extraction Pod also activating as the syringe once again submerged into Tinka's blood sample before extracting a small amount.
Waiting patiently, Minos watched as the DNA Extraction Pod got to work separating the genetic link from the rest of the blood sample.
Once the process was over, Minos pulled Tinka's blood sample out and replaced it with a sterile vial before pressing enter again.
Watching from beyond the glass pod, Minos saw as the syringe released a small strand of clear fluid into the vial.
Opening the glass door, Minos pulled the sample out, placing it delicately into a stand on his table before extracting a small sample with a fresh syringe.
Preparing the sample, Minos put it onto a disc before placing it under his Crystal Amplifier, wanting to take a better look at it, and see if he could understand the problem first hand.
