Shocking News!

Despite knowing that this advice was as good as useless for 99% of people, Minos still thanked the man before leaving, causing him to look at his back with a raised brow.

He couldn't help but wonder if Minos really was one in a thousand who could accomplish such a thing, but that wasn't his business either way, so he just shook his head and got back to work.

Back on the road, Minos once again asked a few people before he was finally given the location of the Auxiliary District.

Aleph City was a massive place that housed tens millions of people, and the Auxiliary District, as one of the most elite districts, was located near the center of the city, far away from the Outer District that Minos lived in.

Even at full speed, it took quite a while for Minos to finally reach his destination, and on the way he had to go through a few checkpoints in order to verify his identity.

Finally entering the district, Minos couldn't help but look around with fascination, looking at all the interesting guilds signs, some for occupations he had never even heard about before.

Compared to the Outer District, not only was this place cleaner, the people also seemed to be the elites of Aleph City, each dressed up in clothes made of the finest silks and wearing all sorts of jewelry.

Looking at the people for a moment, Minos focused back on the signs, walking through the streets in an attempt to find the Talisman Guild.

Compared to his weapon refining, Minos was more confident in his talisman making skills, and having already created quite a few Four-Moon talisman's, he was confident he could obtain a Four-Moon certificate.

While he was also confident in creating a Four-Moon weapon and passing the Weapon Guild test as well, he hadn't actually made such a weapon yet, so there was no point taking any risks.

Of course with his Omniscient Eyes, the risks were pretty much nil, but given Minos started his journey with talisman making, it seemed right that it would be the first thing he applied for.

Minos initially wanted to ask a few people, but most of them were incredibly arrogant, the kind ones ignoring him and the more rude ones directly insulting him.

Scratching head slightly, Minos couldn't help but wonder why these people were so hostile, but considering how coddled most of them were, it made sense they were arrogant.

After all, Aleph City was like a garden, and the people who grew up here knew nothing of the hostilities of the world, just knowing that as long as there were any problems, their families could resolve it.

Just as Minos let out a sigh and was about to start looking around himself, a voice calling out to him caught his attention.

"Excuse me, I couldn't help but overhear you're heading to the Talisman Guild. It just so happens that's my destination as well, so why don't you join us?" The voice said.

Turning around, Minos looked at the elegant young man with a gentle smile, who looked like he couldn't harm a fly.

"Young Master, we're already late for the examination." The beautiful maid beside him couldn't help but admonish.

"A little help won't change anything." The Young Master laughed, not minding.

While Minos wasn't the suspicious type, he still subtly activated his Omniscient Eyes, giving the two a quick inspection before finally nodding his head.

"Thank you for the help."

"No problem. My name is Onald, though my friends call me O, and this is my maid, Eustrese." Onald introduced.

"I'm Minos." Minos replied.

"It's nice to meet you Minos, you must be new to the city."

"Just arrived."

"Oh? Well your timing is perfect. The Talisman Guild has just opened its examinations."

"Young Master, how rare are Taliman Master's?" Eustrese couldn't help but say, her implication obvious.

"Hahaha, Eustrese, you're just a layman so you can't tell, but looking at Mister Minos's fingers, you can see just how nimble they are, which isn't something you'd find in an average cultivator." Onald explained.

"You've got sharp eyes." Minos smiled.

"Just a little trick I've developed after working with talisman makers for so long, nothing worthy of praise." Onald quickly said, seemingly not comfortable with praise.

"It's more than a little trick, it requires perception, which isn't something that just anyone can have. Your cultivation must be quite deep." Minos said.

"You've got sharp eyes as well, Mister Minos!" Onald said, impressed at Minos's quick analysis.

"Just a little trick." Minos joked, causing Onald to laugh.

"Mister Minos, I have a feeling we will be good friends." Onald said.

"Maybe you're right, and if that's the case, you should probably stop calling me Mister, just call me Minos." Minos said.

"Alright, Minos it is! Anyways, talking about the Talisman Guild, are you here for the Four-Moon certificate exam?"

"Exactly."

"Well I wish you luck, I've already failed a few times, hopefully I'll get it this time." Onald said.

"It's that hard?" Minos asked with a raised brow.

"Hey, you can't expect it to be easy, can you? Besides, the Talisman Guild, along with all the other's, will never let lucky ones slip through, they only want the elites, and their tests reflect this."

"Oh? You mind telling me what the test is like." Minos asked.

"Well it's exactly what you'd expect, however you'll be required to make a new talisman that the guild will present you with, which means you can't just depend on your ability to make other Four-Moon Talisman's in order to pass." Onald explained before continuing.

"Making a Four-Moon Talisman that you've already created hundreds of times is simple, and the guild naturally won't let that happen, so they'll purposely gather a new talisman or even create one, so as to test our true qualifications."

"It really is more complicated than I expected." Minos said, though his mood wasn't affected, and the challenge honestly made no difference to him.

"Don't worry too much, as long as your skills are developed, you should be able to pass within a few attempts."

"Hopefully."

"Anyways, let's not lower the mood before the test, it's important to remain positive, so how about I tell you something interesting." Onald said with a slight smirk.

"Hmm?"

"Have you ever heard of Princess Lilia?" Onald said, almost laughing already.

Almost pausing midstep, Minos forcefully calmed his mood back down, letting out an exhale before finally replying normally.

"Of course, the most talented and beautiful princess in the empire, who hasn't heard of her?" Minos replied, his voice natural.

"This news is actually kind of old, but given that you're new to the city, you've probably haven't heard it yet, but it'll still shock your socks off!" Onald said, as if building up the tension.

"Well?"

"She had a son, and out of wedlock too! I heard the emperor nearly blew the palace's roof off in a fit of rage!" Onald said with a laugh before continuing.

"Not to mention she refused to say who the father was, adamant on keeping it a secret. I swear if she wasn't the emperor's daughter, she'd likely be locked up in the Frigid Palace for a hundred years!"

Hearing this, Minos fist unconsciously clenched as his breathing got a little harsher, his eyes going slightly red.

Fortunately, his will had already been honed to an incredible level after all these years, so after only a split second of chaos, he forcefully controlled his body's reaction, his Omniscient Eyes activating at full force.

His Omniscient Eyes happened to have an auxiliary effect of smoothing out his emotions, so after activating it, he almost immediately went back to normal.

Letting out another exhale, he was about to reply, but Onald seemed to still have a lot to say.

"But guess what happened next? That son that the whole empire thought of as nothing more than a bastard, happened to have incredible talent, supposedly even better than the Nine Sword Divinity!"

"The emperor's attitude did a complete 180 after knowing this, and that child that everyone expected to live a miserable life, was instantly elevated, and was even crowned as the next emperor!"

"My heaven's, just the thought of the faces of all those arrogant old princes who must have waited decades for such a title, only to be passed on for a little boy still in diapers. My stomach!" Onald said, breaking out into a fit of laughter.

Only after a few minutes and an intensive back rub from Eustrese, did Onald finally calm down, taking in deep breaths to recover from his laughter before continuing.

"I also heard something else strange. Apparently that boy has white hair, which is weird since no such thing exists in the royal family's bloodline, at least not that I know of." Onald said, before freezing as he looked at Minos's long white hair.

Seeing Onald's eyes that suddenly froze on his head, Minos couldn't help but nearly break out into a sweat, thinking that his identity, that he hadn't even used for a few days, may have already been revealed!
