Chapter 19 The enemy

After having one of the most stressful days of my life, I went home only to find Ronnie Trump scrolling through his phone in our living room. Maria and Leleti who were watching TV turned to look at me with apologetic looks.

“What is he doing here?” I asked my roommates. My apartment was my home, and that meant it was supposed to be a safe haven. It was supposed to be the place that gave me peace after a stressful day in the chaotic world. Having Ronnie in it was devastating. He deserved to be in hell and not anywhere near me.

“I came to talk to you,” he said. “Is that a problem?”

“I have nothing to talk about with a bastard like you,” I said. How dare he even think I would be interested in listening to whatever crap he had to let out? I started walking to my room and was reaching out to insert the key to the keyhole when he spoke.

“It’s about the press conference,” he said.

“What about it?” I asked.
