Chapter 62 Mad woman

72. Mad woman

I ran, like a mad woman, not stopping until I couldn’t see Edward’s face. I stopped in an open park and bent down, hands on my knees. I was panting, trying to regain my breath. My lungs were aching, as if they were on fire. I looked up and saw an empty bench and trudged towards it.

Being lied to is terrible. Being lied to by someone you love is so much worse. I couldn’t take any more of Edward’s lies anymore. I saw a couple on a bench a few feet away and wondered if all was as it seemed. If they were as happy as they seemed. Was one of them lying to the other or were they the lucky few who were actually honest with each other?
