PEOPLE passing by gave me and Connor weird looks. It was indeed unusual to see their Alpha holding a bunch of cheery flowers as he walked in the hallways of the infirmary.
Connor wore a deep scowl on his face that has been there since we left the house. I insisted he bring Maxim flowers on our visit or I won’t be sleeping in the room tonight. I didn’t believe he was going to do it, but here he was, holding a bouquet of sunflowers. I couldn’t help but smile because of this.
“This is dumb,” Connor said as we stopped in front of a room where Maxim was staying.
“It’s not. Let’s go,” I replied sternly and opened the door.
Inside was Maxim sitting on his bed, looking outside the window. He looked in our direction when the door opened.
“Hi. How are you, Maxim?” I asked as we enter.
“I’m good. Thank you for letting me stay here.”
“Of course. Connor?” I called my mate and looked at him and then at the flowers.
