Chapter 24

Stranger tried several times to talk to me but I ignored him until Andrew arrived. I immediately stood up and hugged my husband tightly. I knew Stranger was looking at us and I knew anger could be seen on his face. But I ignored him. I focused on my husband and I cried in his arms. What I need now is comfort from my husband.

"What happened, hon? Why was Logan rushed here? Was his illness triggered?"

I shook my head and looked at Andrew. "It's my fault. I didn't keep a close eye on Logan," I said between my sobs.

"Explain it to me, hon. What happened to him?"

"Logan drowned in the pool," I answered and lowered my head.

I can't look directly at Andrew. It's my fault what happened to my son. If I hadn't spent more time on the beach talking to Stranger and followed them right away it wouldn't have happened. And I blamed myself for what happened to him.
