He sighed heavily. "You want me to be honest with you, Florence?" He looks at me straight in the eye. "I'm not fine, and I don't think that I will be fine if we continue treating each other like strangers."
I can feel a heavy lump obstructing my throat. My hands are slightly shaking no matter how much I try to calm my nerves.
"But w-we're good, sir. What happened between us on the past weeks are just mere figment of illusion. What you felt for me was not true, and I'm fine with that. Trust me, I'm not holding any grudge against y-you," I said, my voice cracking.
He looks at me intently, his eyes burning with an intense emotion. "What I feel for you is real, Florence. All those things that I told you were true. Do you seriously think that I would took a risk of breaking the wall between us if my feelings are just mere lies?"
