Chapter 112 A DINNER WITH HER

She extends a hand at me. "Nice to meet you again, my hero. I'm Francine, your childhood best friend."

My eyes widened. Surprise would be an understatement to describe the expression on my face.

"N-Nice to meet you too, France," I replied hesitantly.

She laughs. "Nice. You still remember the nickname that you used to call me when we were still young."

I simply smiled because I honestly don't know what to say. Am I bad if I say that I don't feel any overwhelming emotion after seeing her? I mean, sure I'm happy that I got to see the first friend that I had when I was still in pre-school, but that's it.

"Why don't you pull a seat for our lovely Francine?" my mother chimed in.

I look at her with a creased forehead. It's very much obvious that she's up to something. But instead of making a fuss about it, I just do what she said.

After pulling a chair for Francine, I sat beside my mother since it's the only vacant seat on our table.
