Vincent was furious. But he was equally distressed when he saw her tears. He squeezed her hand in an attempt to comfort her.


Natalia sniffed and said, "When I got pregnant again, I decided to leave him. It took a lot of effort to get the divorce. I assumed I was free from him, but I was wrong. He never stopped harassing me."


She looked into his eyes, “He even tried to kidnap Jonathan.”


Vincent was speechless. It was only then that he figured out why Jonathan was scared of the gray-eyed monster. Gerald was so vicious that he didn't think twice about abducting his own son. Vincent began to despise him. He regretted leaving him alive.


Natalia withdrew her gaze and turned her attention to the lake. The serenity of the surroundings was not enough to calm her restlessness. Each time she recalled the past, another deep scar was grafted to her.


She couldn't stop the tears from falling, but she still forced a smile and said, "I guess I bored you with my sad stories."
