When Vincent exited Joseph's room, he noticed Chas leaning against his room door across the hallway, arms crossed over his chest. He resisted the impulse to roll his eyes and went up to him.
Chas kept looking at him without moving a bit. His lips quirked up into a sly smirk after a solid minute. “I wanted to talk to you.”
“I know,” Vincent responded. "Would you mind stepping aside so I can open the door?"
Chas chuckled as he moved aside, “Are you inviting me in?”
Vincent raised one eyebrow to him while unlocking the door, “Do you need my invitation to come in?”
With a click, Vincent opened the door and went in. He turned to Chas and stood right at the doorstep, blocking the way. His body language indicated that he had no interest in allowing him in.
“Point.” Chas smiled. “I don't need anyone's invitation to break into somebody's place. All I need is a search warrant. Now that I am off duty, I do need an invitation.”
“Have you ever heard of vampires?” Vincent asked.
